I Have A Dream
by Nancy Kivlen
Now it's a nightmare.
We will be supporting John McCain in November.
We didn't have to re-register, we could have simply voted for McCain in November, but we wanted to send a message to the Democratic Party. We are unhappy, disappointed, and angry at Obama, his supporters, the media and the Democratic Party.
Barack Obama was Selected, Not Elected by the Democratic party.
Pledged delegates were won by each candidate either through a primary or a caucus. Obama received most of his delegates by winning caucuses. The very nature of a caucus suppresses voter turnout, since caucuses take place over a few hours on a specific day and do not allow absentee ballots, those that are unable to attend (workers, disabled, mothers with childcare issues) cannot participate. Consequently a delegate in a small state with low voter turnout like Idaho, receives far more weight than a delegate from a primary in a bigger state with high voter turnout, like California.
While the Democrats cried "foul!" to the outcome in Florida over the votes counted and not counted in 2000, this same party decided to count votes in Florida by 1/2 for moving their primary date forward which was not the party's fault. And in Michigan the Rules & Bylaws committee voted to completely OVERTURN the results of the election and give Obama 59 extra delegates that he did not win, while taking 4 delegates from Hillary Clinton that she did win.
When you consider that Obama "won" the pledged delegates by a mere 3%, or 125. This includes the extra 59 delegates from a state whose ballot he chose to remove his name from. You can see that the 125 delegate lead is reduced to a mere 58 pledged delegate lead had the delegates been distributed according to the votes. This is called OVERTURNING THE ELECTION RESULTS - the very thing the Democrats cried "foul!" over in 2000.
Pledged Delegates Barack Obama 1,765 (51%) + 125 +3%
Hillary Clinton 1,640 (48%) **she takes these to the convention
What MI should have
looked like: Barak Obama 1,702 (50.8%) +58 +1.7%
Hillary Clinton 1,644 (49.1%)
Super Delegates Barack Obama 424 + 144
Hillary Clinton 282
Uncommitted 118
(Super Delegates can change their mind, final vote at convention)
Hillary Clinton not only won the popular vote in the Democratic primaries, she received more votes than any other candidate in the history of any primary in the United States with over 18 million votes!!
Obama has a history of disenfranchising voters. Not only did he not want the votes counted in Florida or Michigan, he did not want a revote to take place.
I am not surprised, when Obama first came to Chicago and ran for his state senate seat in IL he was successful because he had the incumbent, Alice Palmer and his other opponents removed from the ballot in a legal loophole maneuver. Consequently, he ran unopposed and the popular, qualified incumbent Alice Palmer was OUT!
Obama has lied about his relationships with Rev Wright, Father Pfledger, and convicted terrorist William Ayers. He has also lied about his association with convicted felon Tony Rezko.
Does anyone else find it odd that demands for Hillary to leave the race escalated on a day when his "friend" Rezko was convicted on 16 counts of bribery and fraud that the news media failed to report on?
He has called all these relationships "unfortunate".
This is the politics of "Hope" and "Change"?
Are you kidding me?
The Male Elite Losers of the Democratic party all backed Obama early and consistently called for Hillary to quit the race. Dashle, Bradley, Kerry, Edwards, Richardson, Leahy, McGovern, Kennedy and Howard Dean are all losers themselves in their quests for the Presidency. The only Winner in the group supported Hillary Clinton.
The only President to successfully serve two terms in my lifetime: Bill Clinton.
Since neither Hillary nor Barack could win the nomination through the election process, due to the tightness of the race, it required the Elite to choose one of them and -how surprising- they chose the younger, inexperienced, unqualified male over the older, experienced, qualified female. In California we call that DISCRIMINATION.
EASY. This is my protest vote.
Sometimes the PERSON running (or not running in this case) is MORE IMPORTANT than the issues.
Sometimes if they will not listen, you have to find a way to make yourself heard.
For the 6-10 million Hillary supporters that plan to vote for McCain, or not vote at all - we are lucky. The Republicans actually picked a MODERATE candidate!!! John McCain has similar views to democrats on: global warming, immigration, gay rights (he believes same sex couples should have legal rights of some sort), and campaign finance reform.
Now, of course, Republicans don't have a problem with the idea of many Hillary supporters joining them against Obama.
In fact, I was shocked to see that on McCain's own website blog there were more Hillary supporters there on Wed night than McCain supporters!!
"Welcome Hillary Supporters" one Republican male wrote - "We may not agree on all issues, but we will try to be open minded and hear you, we hope you will be open minded too. Remember, even we Republicans can't agree on very many issues. But we all have one goal and that is to defeat Obama in November."
Senator Joe Lieberman sent us Hillary supporters an email on Friday asking us to join him in supporting John McCain.
Of course Democrats and Independents are appalled at the idea that I would support John McCain. "What about abortion rights and women's rights?" they cry.
Okay - do you not get it? I have just witnessed the biggest abuse of a woman in modern history - the take down of the most qualified, experienced WOMAN candidate by her OWN party.
What about THAT Woman's Rights?
Where was the Democratic Party leadership when Clinton was being verbally abused and having sexist hate messages hurled at her by the media on a nightly basis? Where was the media when the Obama campaign screamed "Racist" at Bill & Hillary Clinton?
NOWHERE.
Nope - it ain't gonna work - not this time.
Threatening me with Supreme Court justices and overturning Roe v Wade isn't gonna work this time. If it was not overturned in the last 8 years under the most conservative, backwards administration and congress in my lifetime, then it surely will not be overturned under a more moderate McCain Presidency who will have a majority Democratic congress.
And - I do not care about the war anymore. The Deaths of the 4,000 soldiers killed sit squarely on the shoulders of the stupid idiots that voted for Bush - TWICE. Talk to THEM.
I have been a loyal democrat, I supported John Kerry, even though I didn't like him. I knew the stakes were high then, but stupid people voted for Bush and here we are.
This is about how Hillary Clinton has been UNFAIRLY treated as a Woman candidate for President: by the media, by Obama, by his supporters and by the Democratic Party.
If we do not correct it now and speak out about it now, then it will not change.
We must protest.
This is about WOMEN'S RIGHTS and telling the Democratic Party that the 60% membership of women in the party count too.
I wish she'd leave the Democratic Party and run as an Independent. She won't do that, but voting for McCain opens it up for her to run in 2012.
It is the fastest path for her to be elected barring the possibility that my new party will find enough trash in Obama's background to have the Super Delegates change their mind at the Convention. Obama is the 'presumptive' nominee.
And finally, I do not believe Obama has the experience, qualifications or Character to be President. 1 year in the Senate (2 years running for office) does not qualify him. In fact, if he won - he would be the LEAST QUALIFIED, LEAST EXPERIENCED President we EVER had in our ENTIRE History.
I believe the Vice President position is an INSULT to Hillary Clinton (she's already done that will Bill). Still, I would like to see her take it for the simple reason - it is HISTORY making and she is only a heartbeat away from the #1 spot .....things happen....
Yes - I would vote for Hillary Clinton as Vice President, I could never vote against her.
I am glad that Hillary will only suspend her campaign and hold all her delegates until the Convention. Since the final vote by all delegates is not cast until the Convention.
And let's be clear.
Obama did not SOAR to this nomination - HE LIMPED. In fact Hillary won the last 6 out of 9 contests. She has won most of the contests since March. She has WON ALL SWING STATES. She has the stronger poll numbers against McCain and she wins the electoral swing states needed to secure the nomination.
It is the closest election in the Democratic Primary history.
Here is just how close the popular vote numbers came out:
In the end everyone makes up their own mind about who to vote for and why. That's America.
But, for me. November, 2008 - I will send a message to Barack Obama and the Democratic Party:
"No You Can't". "Not This time."
John McCain for President 2008
Now it's a nightmare.
Today I registered as a Republican for the first time in my life.
I have been a lifelong democrat, but today my family and I left the Democratic Party and registered as Republicans.
"No self respecting woman should wish or work for the success of a party that ignores her" -Susan B Anthony, 1872.The way in which Obama got the nomination is similar to how Bush won in 2000 against Gore. All votes were not counted and they were not counted equally.
I wish she'd leave the Democratic Party and run as an Independent. She won't do that, but voting for McCain opens it up for her to run in 2012.

Brenda:
You keep bringing up the fear of McCain putting a Roe busting judge on the supreme court, continuing the war, etc...
First, we will have a Democratic majority this year who can refuse to fund wars and who can easily veto a conservative judge nomination. So rest a little easy.
Granted, there's no guarantee of anything, but you have to appreciate that some of us would rather take our chances with a hamstrung moderate one-term Republican than an uber-liberal / radical liberationist pretending to be a mainstream "everyman - and woman."
Also, a radical, uber-liberal, liberationist with anti-American and reverse racist ties IS NO SUBSTITUTE for a centrist mainstream Hillary Clinton.
Second, you might consider that some of us have principles that transcend political issues. The DNC, Obama and the mainstream media screwed us - repeatedly, brutally.
I believe the anger resulting from that screwing has reached critical mass - thank God! Finally.
I would vote for a brick to keep Obama out of the White House - on principle. And yes, I believe the consequences would be worth it.
Anything to prove to the media, future politicians, and the DNC that we cannot be jerked around, disrespected, ridiculed, and dismissed.
Oh there will be pain. So be it. No pain, no gain!
Luckily, McCain is a moderate Republican with many common positions with Democrats. On the other issues, we're willing to gamble on the Democratic majority to reign him in.
In any case, he'll be gone in four years and perhaps we'll get a little more respect the next time around.

If I thought Obama were a competent "uber-liberal", I'd vote for him in a flash.
He's not competent and he's not that liberal. He voted for the Bush-Cheney energy bill. He threw gays under the bus. He's a fraud who learned pretty language to trick the public just like Bush in 2000. Remember, "I'm a uniter, not a divider"?
I'd rather have a ham-strung, one-term, more moderate than most Republican president than an incompetent Democrat who will detroy any chance we have to implement the Democratic agenda for the next 25 years.

You may TRUST what she says, however in the privacy of the booth I bet Hillary Clinton votes McCain too. Hillary Clinton was just publicly raped by the Democratic Party and you say it's OK. If Obama had the intentions to promote her program he would have fought the wrong doing of the RBC ruling. Silence is this case amounts to admission of guilt. The man is selfish.
Wake up Babe. Obama has no intention of promoting anything of Hillary's. He just wants the votes. If you want Hillary's programs, you need Hillary, Not Obama. He has his own agenda and it is dangerous. She stated she would support Obama, she never said she would vote for him and there's a big difference. As I said before wake up --- that nomination (which is bound to be overturned -- becauses Hillary masses are fleeing the forced Obama nonsense) - that nomination was stolen from Hillary Clinton. Learn to think for yourself, not what the media feeds you.

Hillary, Obama did not win the nomination for Presidency of the United States of America. The DNC and he stole it from you. Let it be known here and now, they will pay a "bitter" price for this move in November if you do not prevail in the end. The Democratic Party just handed the election to McCain when they hosed you over Obama. I for one woman will be voting McCain in the fall, if this incredible theft is allowed to stand. What happened to count all our votes? I cannot, even with your urging endorse this man. Now, after your campaign suspension speech the audacity of the media never ceases to amaze me. Now those arrogant @#$^$es are saying that you must get out and campaign for their golden boy. Of course you do (not), if you want a Democrat in the Whitehouse. They know he can't win without you and we all know that too. So let's go girls, let's get their poster boy elected. Yeah [W]right, when hell freezes over, I'll start. Sorry Hillary, it is you or McCain. I still say it will be you because Obama will implode before Denver. Thank God, you merely suspended your campaign.

Mary,
The primary uses delegates, not the popular vote, to select the nominee.
Please don't waste your vote on McStupid--He's not going to pass any of the programs Hillary wants to pass!
And, how many more soldiers need to die during those four years.
I TRUST Hillary and will vote for Obama so that they can work TOGETHER!
Reply to this
"McStupid" ... boy that shows your political astuteness ... nice. Do you realize that McCain was a POW for years? What did Obama do? Nothing for this country that requires courage or the possibility of getting hurt. He has has proven he is a momma's boy.
Yes the nominee is voted in by delegates --- and the super delegates should be voting based on the will of the people, not a high-pressure lobbying effort. Tell me, who won the will of the people????? Hillary Clinton has ignited a force you never experienced in your lifetime. She can throw all her support behind him, but that doesn't mean we have to follow. You need to be a proven leader for me to follow you.
How is your boy going win the electoral college in November? What is your plan to get him elected? The only plan I can see that he may have is to use Hillary and her people to get him elected? How does that forward her promotion of woman's rights. Sorry, sweetie, your not good enough to be President but you are good enough to use so that I can be president. And you think this guy is worthy to lead the country? If you think this guy is going to forward her programs, then I have some swamp land to sell that I would like to show you ... because you apparently will buy anything.
Forget about women ... what do you think about his international experience? He has NONE. Hillary Clinton is already established in the world and so is McCain. There is no way a woman of her caliber would support someone of so little experience unless she did it out of pressure.
When you vote for Obama don't go crying when he lets you down, because he will!

Please get real, FL and MI where a mess to begin with, the results where the only somewhat fair compromise PERIOD>
GO and vote for McCain, we dont want types like you who cannot shake hands after a tuff fight in which both got in some good punches and both attacked each other negatively.
But be preprared for 8 years of McCain. No rights for a women to choose. War with Iran, 8 more years in Iraq, Romeney as VP, permanent tax cuts for the rich, religous fanatics in the Supreme court.
Go ahead an cut your nose off to spite you face.

Yes, Robert!
We cannot wait or take chances with McCain.
To those who would vote for McCain:
Will you allow your son or daughter to die in Iraq just because Hillary is not the nominee?
Maybe you'll allow someone else's son or daughter to die?
Hmmm, I can't hear you. Is it worth it?

McCain has a son in Iraq. He knows first hand what the stakes are? Do you?
The only way I wontt vote for McCain is if Hillary comes back because Barrack Hussein Obama falls flat on his face.
As for the writer of this blog ... I applaud her because she has depth and understanding not only of the political process but also of people. Something your candidate has none of.
Oh,and then once the real battle begins you cry "poor losers" ... like didn't you outgrow that comeback in 4th grade or is this a school project for you and you still are in 4th Grade?

Last Saturday the DNC did something I'm not very happy about, as a matter of
fact, I'm livid. The DNC Rule Committee gave my vote to Sen. Obama. (Michigan
voter)I decided to do something about it. I am resigning
from the DNC. I like many others will not "fall in line". I will be
casting my fall vote for Sen. McCain. I have survived 8 years of President
Bush, I can take 4 of McCain. NO ONE in this great Country has the right to
take my vote and give it to someone else. NO ONE. Remember 2000?
The way the DNC, media, and pundits in this historical race has treated Sen.
Clinton is appalling at best. Why should she have to concede so soon?
Kennedy, Reagan, Hart, none of them did. Then there is the
"gracious" factor. Don't 18,000,000 people get a chance to grieve?
Didn't women especailly earn the right to process the fact we are still not as
good as a
man? Women seen their hopes and dream slapped down Tuesday, just as much as
African Americans seen theirs come true.
Not one pundit on the news said "Great job Sen. Clinton. Great job on
being the first women in our Nations history to accomplish such a huge
hurdle." No. All we heard was how ungracious and selfish she was for not
conceding that very moment. Remember she too won an upset Tuesday in South
Dakota. Not one "Yes, it is possible for a women to run for president,
and even win." No. Just get out, and get out now. How dare you not
throw in the towel right this minute. I am man, hear me roar."
I have learned a lot from this campaign. I would like to share them with you:
1. It is alright to vote for a women just because she is a women.
2. It is alright to vote for an African American just because he is an African
American.
3. It is NOT alright to not to vote for an African American just because he is
African American. This is racist.
4. It is ALRIGHT NOT TO VOTE FOR A WOMEN JUST BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMEN.
Racism in our Country is now dead. this election has proved it, so EVERYONE
WRIGHT, SHARPTON, JACKSON, THE MEDIA, EVERYONE CAN QUIT PLAYING THE RACE CARD.
FOR THIS I AM FOREVER ETERNALLY Grateful.
However, SEXISM is alive, well and running ramped. This needs to be fixed.
Think about the sexism in this election with just the media, 2 apologizes, and
one suspension for sexist remarks. From just one Cable News Network. How many
for racist remarks? Zero, none, nil. This is a HUGE STEP FORWARD. Forty
years ago, this would not have been possible.
Mr. Dean, you should know, my vote for for Sen. McCain isn't alone a vote
against Obama, but rather a combination of that and my disappointment of the
way the DNC treated my vote. It is also a vote against the pundits and media
alike. It is a vote to show you, NO ONE, NO ONE, has a right to take my vote,
based on exit polls and give it to someone else. It is my vote to do with as I please.

We've a right to be angry.
We do NOT have a right to send our neighbors to Iraq to die because we are angry and vote for McCain.
That would be selfish and sinful.

Please do not insult the struggle of Black Americans everwhere with these kinds of remarks. I know Hillary's loss is a low blow for all her supporters--I cannot imagine the sort of anger and bitterness I, as a black woman, would be feeling had Obama lost the nomination--but that's no excuse to deny the suffering of millions of Americans who happen to not share your skin color.
You absolutely have the right to vote for whomever you want, but please don't try and fool anyone into thinking your decision for John McCain is for any other reason than your self-serving immaturity.
There's a good reason why women of color think that the modern feminist movement is a crock--a crock only interested in bettering the lives of WHITE women, and you are a prime example of that.
When millions of black and brown women look at Barack Obama they see the man they hope their sons can become. They see hope for their own futures. But can you see that? No. All you see is that a white woman had her chance "stolen". And that's really sad sweetheart.
Because you are willing to vote for a man who would call his own wife the c-word in full view of reporters, and whose control of the White House would make it that much more difficult for Senator Clinton to CONTINUE HER WORK IN THE WHITE HOUSE. You see, I know that even though I voted for Obama, AND caucused for him, Hillary also has MY best interest at her heart. I would NOT do anything to jeopardize her ability to use her position in the Senate TO PASS IMPORTANT LEGISLATION for this entire country.
You are a sad, sad woman. And exhibiting exactly the sort of self-serving, "I want what I want" attitude that has made the Republican party a haven for greedy good old boys for the last century.
I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms.
Reply to this
It's sad you DON"T GET IT. Obama is an empty suit full of empty rhetoric and no qualifications BUT he does have numerous personal connections with all sorts of questionable characters all the way from corrupt business men to terrorists who actually bombed this country years ago.
what the hell is wrong with you people!
Reply to this
And you don't think Hillary has those same questionable connections? That McCain doesn't? You seem to be the one who doesn't GET it.
If people can accuse Obama supporters of thinking that he's the Messiah, then Hillary supporters think she's the Madonna herself!
The Clintons didn't stay in office for 8 years without getting in bed with some shady people, and McCain's rise to power despite having little support from his Republican comrades didn't come about by wishing upon a star. It happened because he made so connections I'm sure he'd rather keep under wraps.
It's called POLITICS dear Albert.
The difference is that McCain and Clinton are firmly entrenched in the Washington machine and Obama is NOT! That's why he fills stadiums, that's why his speeches are so highly rated, that's why people OUTSIDE THIS COUNTRY are so interested in seeing him in the oval office.

Do you realize that Hillary Clinton has been in public service to this country and its citizens for almost as long as Obama is alive? Does experience matter to you at all? We are involved in two wars, we have economic uncertainty, and energy crisis ... and you think it is ok to hand the keys of the country to someone with four years experience?
Do you really believe that? We have an energy crisis (and believe me it isn't new we've been having it for years) and Obama votes for the Bush-Cheney energy bill ... that's $6 million in subsidies to the oil companies. Did he tell you about that, or did you research it?

Not all supporters of Hillary Clinton are women, nor are they all white. Perhaps you voted strictly on race but the popular vote that Hillary won indicated race was never an issue until you made it one.
Our children never knew there was tension between races because it isn't in their neighborhood or life (that is the tension we have a very diversified community)... that is until Barrack Hussein Obama and his media friends made it an issue. Take a look at a cross section of the demographics with both candidates. Hillary's is a healthy range of ethnicity and race, age, and income. How does obama's hold up? What is his plan for rural America (or maybe he doesn't need them because he referred to them as bitter didn't he)? What's his plan for winning Republicans who already see how he outspent Clinton 3 to 1 in some states AND still lost? I work with all republicans and they view his campaign as a fiscal nightmare ... they know he can't handle a budget!!!
Excuse me, I know you would like to see your son become president as we all do but that is not a reason to hand anyone (even a white woman, white man, or black woman)the nomination for President. You see that title is reserved for someone with real world experience, actual plans on pressing issues.
Oh you caucused for him, you're from Chicago... I have a couple friends who would like to talk to you ... I'll send them right over. Apparently your behavior was less than impressive and borderline illegal ... but hey that's what politics are, right? Talk about good old boys have you looked hard at the leadership of the DNC lately? You really think Obama has the qualifications and ability to lead. You must have been given a differ net program than the rest of us or you are his paid staff.
Or are you new to politics? Let me guess you have been voting for about 3 elections, is that accurate? If it's not and you have been at it longer ... post something with real truth to it ... something that has substance other than bragging how your boy took the nomination (for now).
By the way, how many states do you think there are?

I really think she wants Obama in the whitehouse so that they can work together.

I don't want Obama in the White House because I don't trust him. The hate spewing from the pulpit at his church doesn't bother me nearly as much as the jubilation and glee in the pews. Obama was a member of that church for 20 years. He has not denounced his congregation for their joyous response to the hate coming from the pulpit. He minces his words to trick us into thinking he didn't know he sat in the pews with bigots for 20 years.
My grandson is gay and Obama threw him under the bus by giving bigot Donny McClurkin a platform to denounce gays. Another of Obama's "spiritual" advisores is Reverend James Meeks who runs Hell house's on Halloween in which he shows gay people burning in Hell with prostitutes, drug addicts, and rapists.
Obama voted for the Bush Cheney energy bill. Hillary and McCain voted against it.
At AIPAC, Obama pandered to the Jews to get their support because they don't trust him either.
It is truly sad, after I saw Obama at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, I had great hopes for him. No longer.
Join us at http://www.Democrats4McCain.US
We can't afford a hate-monger in the White House.
Get a clue. If Obama is elected, he will be a catastrophic failure and it will be 50 years before we have another opportuity like the one the Democrats are pi$$ing away.
At least with John McCain, the Democrats will get another chance in 2012. Of course, I have no hope or expectation that the Democrats will have learned their lesson and nominate a decent candidate.
I predict that as soon as the Democratic Convention is over, the Republicans will dump so much garbage on Obama, he won't be able to dig out of it in time to vote for himself in November.
Obama's a loser.

Albert Prince:
Hey. Not so fast with the John McCain support!
Remember that Hillary has only "suspended" her campaign, not ended it. She is holding on to her delegates which puts her within easy striking distance of Obama at the convention if:
1) his poll numbers start reflecting the buyer's remorse from the early blue collar states who voted before Wright/Pfleger/Michelle/Bittergate/Ayers, etc. leaked out in spite of the liberal Obama-surrogate-media's best efforts to ignore it.
2) Another gaffe or two presents itself and Obama's negatives go up so that he becomes obviously unelectable.
3) Any other unforeseeable event that negatively impacts Obama - politics is a day to day business - anything can happen.
We have almost three months before the convention actually votes and the nominee elected.
If Obama holds on and officially gets the nomination in late August at the convention, then is the time to start actually supporting McCain.
Until then, it's best to keep making your intentions known that you will support McCain if Obama eventually becomes the nominee - but not until.
WE CAN STILL HOPE. AND WE HAVE PRETTY GOOD ODDS.
Sorry Obama folks.

Most Democrats that are voting for McCain would come back to Hillary Clinton in a heart beet. She is the most qualified and most electable candidate. The next most qualified is McCain. Obama was so far down the list, the only reason he made it was because everyone else had to quit or in the case of Hillary was forced to suspend. (Gee, there seems to be an epidemic of that in Obama Campaigns.)
Hillary Clinton will ALWAYS be my #1 Choice.

I am a Hillary supporter and voted for her in the Oklahoma election. But Obama has the charisma of Bobby Kennedy. This is why our nations youth (under 35) are wild about his candidacy. I myself am 59 and think that Hillary would have been an excellent opponent to McCain, but I think the Democratic Party's superdelegates and young Americans thought Obama was the better choice for the nation's future. -- John

So, the party is making you allow McCain to win, to continue the war, to prevent anything legislation Hillary supports from being vetoed by McCain.
Actually, you could support Hillary by making sure there's a democrat in the whitehouse.
Too bad you don't support our Hillary.

Oh we support Hillary. Totally.
If you think that Hillary's agenda will be pushed through by Democrats in the White House your mama dropped you on your head one time too many. Look at what the Democrats did to her. Anyway we'll have a Democratic congress so who needs Obama, not the Democrats and not the Republicans ... just the ones who voted for him. You newbies don't even understand all things in politics are disposable. We don't need a Democrat in the WHite House we just want ONE ... Hillary Rodham Clinton. If she isn't there to implement her plans, we have a conservative Republican who can at least respect her opinion and a democratic congress to help get things done. See we totally support her.

She is trying to pull the next best thing and have a president that will work with her and pass her bills. That's all it takes is to get a President to pass your bills. Hmmm. And I guess you're proposing that Obama is the one to do it. The person who stole 4 of her delegates and diluted Florida and Michigan's votes is the person who is going to "pass her bills"
Honey, it takes a lot more than just a President it takes hard work, tenacity, experience, connections, favors, lobbying, and not a series of vacations. You don't get it. Hillary has supporters because they have been active in politics for decades and they know a candidate like her God only delivers once.
Hillary needs our help to put out the mini campfires you Obama supporters light cause this is serious politics and not time for Cumbaya and toasting marshmallows. Unknown to Hillary, she has an army of us working knowing exactly what to do to get her name on the ticket in August ... and we will stop at nothing less.
So she needs your help too ... vote for Hillary in November!

Hillary did pull it off, just like Al Gore did when they counted ALL the votes and found that he did, indeed, win Florida and the presidency!
The DNC, in its infinite stupidity and visceral misogynistic desire for the patriarchy to prevail by any means necessary, gamed the archaic system by which they choose a nominee to favor Obama from "day one". With the help of a fawning, biased, sexist media, they managed to cover up the fact that obama won nothing.
The Boyz from Brazile assumed that the women would come back to the party and "do the right thing", despite the horrific manner in which they treated one of the best presidential nominees this party has ever had. Her one fault -- she was a WOMAN! They attacked and tried to destroy one of their own and for that I will never forgive them.
I've left the democratic party and will turn my back on them just as they turned their backs on millions of women and the men who supported Hillary with the same, if not more, passion, as they supported obama.
All of you obamabots can call Donna Brazile and complain to her about your dilemma because it was she who stated unequivically on national TV that the democratic party did not need the women, the blue collar workers, or those asians and hispanics any longer, because they (the DNC, with the help of George Soros and numerous other bundlers within the corporate power elite) had created a "new democratic coalition" of voters -- AA's, latte libers and college students.
You made your bed, now lie in it. Don't you dare come here attacking us and whining about our lack of loyalty to your messiah! Loyalty is a 2-way street and you guys ran right over us with your vitriol and meansprited attacks on a woman who deserved your respect, if not your support.
You should have thought about the consequences of your actions when you were calling Hillary and all who supported her f-ing whores, bitches, idiots, uneducated, unnecessary and your messiah flipped her off and stood silently by and said NOTHING while the media viciously attacked her every, single day for the last 5 months.
Now, you want our support? LOL! Who's stupid now?

I hope that he is successful in overturning Roe v. Wade, and that my daughters and yours, and our grandchildren, have the chance to die of back alley abortions. I hope that he is successful in pushing a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. I hope that 8,000 more of our young men and women die in the war in Iraq, and Iran, and Afghanistan. I hope that during the four (or will it be eight?) years of the McCain presidency the opinion that other countries throughout the world hold of us, the USA, continues to decline, and that our power to make things better on the international stage continues to shrink. I hope this, my dear, so I can come back to your blog and blame you. Yes. When my beautiful daughter dies of an illegal abortion in 15 years, I will blame you personally because you elected John McCain even when you didn't believe anything he stood for. Because when you vote for him, and he is elected, it doesn't matter why you did it, only that you did it. As the mom of a child with Cerebral Palsy, I'm appalled that you would vote against your best interests as a woman, and against the best interests of other women and children. There will be no healthcare reform under McCain. He will actually try to take away the employer tax credit on HC, to make it even less affordable. More troops will die in Iraq, and our country will be less safe. Can you sleep with their blood on your hands? The economy - what economy? It's clear McCain has no clue what to do to fix the economy - and we're already at 5.5% unemployment, 35% higher foreclosure rates over this time last year, gas is $4.30/gallon where I live (and there is no public transportation in my town). And let's not forget about women's rights - something McCain has not stood up for. He WILL appoint far RW judges that will uphold spying, refusing marriage rights, overturn Roe V. Wade (even to protect the life of the mother) and so on. And what do I tell my son when our insurance rates and out of pocket fees are so high, that we have to stop going to therapy and seeing the dr? I'm sorry son, some women where really angry and wanted to send a message. The message they sent was lost in the mail, and the one received was that they don't care about you. I know you're in pain son, but I can't afford the medicine. I know you can't walk, but I can't afford new braces. I know you're hungry - but son... I can't afford to rent your feeding pump or pay for the formula any longer. We can thank those women son... Thank you for refusing to do the right thing by letting your shameful pride stand in the way.

What?!?! You can't run for president unless you're an American. And as a reminder, unless you're a native american, we all come from immigrant blood.
And let's get this straight, Hillary isn't going to run independent. It would be the end of her career, just like Zell Miller, and soon to be Joe Lieberman.
As for the anti-christ comment, I'm not even going to bother with that, just laugh and refer you to factcheck.org.
But again, I just don't get the mindset of a person that will clearly vote against their best interests? First, you cannot be a Hillary supporter, because if you were you would know a Republican in the White House means she will not be able to get anything passed. Second, McCain in the whitehouse means that our insurance premiums won't go down - they'll go up. The economy won't get better, it will get worse. The war won't end, our children will end up being drafted to continue fighting for it.
But hey... It's idiotic reasoning such as yours that got us 8 years of Bush. So why does it surprise me that after all this country has been through, and the horrific economic shape it's in, that people would still vote for more of the same.

In this election year, a vote for McCain is not "voting against [my] their best interests."
Obama supporters have a real hard time grasping the concept that sometimes you just have to take a stand against wrong-doing no matter the cost.
McCain is a moderate, maverick Republican who will have a Democratic veto-proof majority in both houses. That means he can accomplish very little other than deadlock for four years.
No funding by Congress - no war. No approval by Congress, no conservative on the court. And so on.
It's worth the gamble to vote for him instead of gambling with an unknown entity like Obama - with his scurrilous cronies (Rezko and Ayers) and his radical liberationist and anti-American "friends, mentors, spiritual advisors, family" (his words, not mine) like his wife, Wright, Farrakhan, Pfleger, and others.
"Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas." "You are judged by the company you keep."
You simply are in love with the idea of Obama and can't think past it.
Have a little respect for others who have thought about this predicament and decided on a different choice than yours.
Try a little courteous discourse for a change. If you want to change minds about the pushy, pouty, ruthless, insulting reputation Obama supporters have made for themselves, this is not the way to do it.
You make me that much more determined to see John McCain elected if Hillary is not a choice.

I trust that a veto-proof Democratic majority Congress will hold McCain down. We have not had that check in place for many, many years.
McCain will be a hamstrung, one-term President. I believe sincerely that he will do less damage to the world than Obama with a rubber-stamping Democratic majority on hand and the disgraceful excuse for a free press at his back.
Obama is a closeted radical uber-liberal with anti-American ties and financing from a convicted Chicago racketeer.
A vote for anybody but McCain IS A VOTE FOR OBAMA.
If Hillary does not miraculously survive to be the nominee, then McCain is the only thing keep this "smooth as silk Chicago thug" out of the White House.

Hillary Clinton is the ONLY CANDIDATE with the Intelligence, Strength, and Spirit to make the programs happen to make anything happen.
There was not reason to step down and support Obama ... she was forced into it and anyone with half a brain can see that. She has the popular vote. And yes the nominee is selected by the delegates who are to vote the will of the people. Looks like there was a major breakdown in the system there. Remember that the General Election is based on the electoral college which Obama will lose thus losing the campaign again for the Democratic party. Hillary Clinton has the electoral College locked. You think WV is going to vote for Obama on what Hillary tells them. 100% of the Counties voted for Hillary Clinton -- name one time your little boy pulled that one off. He didn't he couldn't.
McCain has half the sense of Hillary Clinton; but he also has twice the sense of Obama. So you are telling me to vote for the third most competant candidate? Are you taking medication to address this thought process? Cause you are showing signs of slow leak in intelligence.
To vote for a third party is only going to dilute, not change, the votes of the two major parties unless Hillary Clinton runs as an Independent. A vote to McCain is a dead-on right hook on the jaw of the Democratic Party ... especially if casted as a DEMOCRAT. The Democratic Party deserves a good punch or two for how they have treated Hillary Clinton. And I for one intend to give as many punches as I can.

I'm a women and I understand greatly how women feel, but maybe just maybe if women didn't make this race all about them she may have won. Some Hillary Supporters only saw her as a candidate for woman but we all must remember that everyone matters, and to call Obama the anti-crist, racist, and other terms is simply wrong. I know if the tables were turned and Obama only had votes in Florida and Michigan and wanted a revote everyone would have screamed who do he think he is don't he know the rules, how dare he, it saddens me to the point to where women are making women of all walks of life look weak they see us as if we don't get our way all we will do is complain and whine and trust me this is not the way the we need to portray ourselves as bitter, now just because Hillary is not the nominee everybody wants to run to McSame as that is the answer, trust me it's not iot just shows that we are weak and McCain is probably sitting back laughing. Just look at the facts half the time this man jokes around to make a point he doesn't know anything about the economy and he doesn't seem to show no concern over innocent people losing their lives over a war we were lied to about, McCain whether make sure that things go good in other countries but what about us we are losing our homes high gas prices and people are losing jobs, I don't know Obama or any other candidate personally but he looks way better in my book, he may went to Trinity and sat under Rev. Wright but that doesn't say he is racist in the least he may have made a bad choice but who know if he ever went as being a member don't entitle you to go every Sunday, but I bet everyone have a friend or family member who makes us look bad but the answer is not to turn them away as that don't solves the problem and we shouldn't be judged based of other people's character it's just simply wrong, did anyone judge Hillary for staying with an unfaithful man and stand by his side, that to me is poor judgement, but it's bigger than nitpitcking their bad points as no one is perfect and if you know one show me, Obama is not muslim his dad was, and he knows his sstakes are high being the first African American so this might just make him do well to set an example for those of all walks of life, so think of this before you vote for a man who doesn't define what the country needs, now that Hillary have set the bar follow her example not trash it, if that happens then no other woman would want to run as they will feel all their hard work was for nothing and that is truly disappointing and sad, now what we can do is fight to make sure that the future will be better for the Dems, but don't blame the supporters as we didn't opt not to count the two states, so I say vote for Obama don't make the same mistake that those made putting bush back in office for four more years our country don't deserve that and neighter do our kids so just think hard and long before making a bad choice

I am in the Military and was impressed with Senator Clinton, gave her my support.
As badly as I want us to get out of Iraq, I cannot support a candidate like Senator Obama.
He has no experience whatsoever.
Senator McCain has been to Iraq several times, he understands what is happening there.
I trust him to make the right decisions for our country and put our national security first.
I simply cannot put my support behind a potential Pres Obama.

What amazes me is that with woman as the majority of voters, they couldn't get behind Hillary more than they did. There's no lack of women in the Democratic Party, there's a lack of solidarity among women that is reflected in every election I've ever witnessed.
Hillary is going to be a powerhouse in the Senate, and efforts to draw votes away from Obama will only diminish her influence. Let her stand down with grace, and continue her efforts were they can do much good.
If you're a Democratic, vote Democrat. Don't split the party like George Wallace did.

Too much at stake with the closeted uber-liberal radical Obama and too much abuse from Obama surrogates (that would include the MSM) and Obama supporters like many of the petulent ones on this blog.
Thank you for expressing yourself without the standard vitriol so present here.

Nancy, you're totally weirded out wrong -- and very, very foolish.
Obama, as Hillary said, is your best choice if you want any chance at making the world (and the US) a better place. He also has a better chance of getting elected than Hillary did against McCain. In spite of MY voting for her, the Republicans have an arsenal of negatives against her that would have made it hard to get her elected. (Why do you think so may superdelegates supported Obama? and why Rush Limbaugh asked Republicans to vote for her when allowed to do so by state law?) Obama speaks out for far more issues that you'll find appealing & that McCain opposes -- if you study their positions as closely as you have been--and not be blinded by disappointment. He just isn't a female, but he might select a female running mate (hopefully Hillary).
What you are doing may be popular with some of your family & friends, but I think it is very illogical & self-defeating.

Do you really think we Hillary supporters are voting against Obama because he is not female? That's it? That's the level of respect you have for us ticked off women - AND MEN!
You say "He also has a better chance of getting elected than Hillary did against McCain." Funny. The polls and common sense say differently. She is heavily vetted already. He has had the freest ride of any politician in history thanks to the fawning liberal press.
And there is a world of darkness swirling around him waiting to be exposed.
I'll believe you are a Democrat, but your low opinion of women's abilities to have actual well-reasoned thought on their own is...I'll try to be nice about it...hmmm...unfortunate.

I'm voting for McCain because I believe in him more as a person and a leader. I don't believe in Obama. You are being disrespectful to me and my judgment by calling me a sore loser and a crybaby. Obama supporters are another reason why I can't vote for him. Calling all of us names is not mature nor is it necessary. I've done my research on McCain as I have on Obama. Even in the aftermath I do not see someone who is capable to handle the presidency in Obama. He played gold while he had his advisers listen to Hillary's speech in stead of doing it himself. He assigned a three person team to select his vice-president hopefuls. This aspect of his personality bothers me greatly. The there are the subtle lies that he's been caught in. He doesn't have to speak poisoned words, his proximity to undesirable associations tell another story that does not collaborate with what Obama says.
Your remark that you won't need us for your landslide against McCain is weak because every vote counts. If there are enough of us voting for McCain, you won't have your landslide. You can draw more flies with honey than vinegar, so you should leave your vinegary statements home.

Look, I am a Hillary supporter also. I don't think your opposition to Obama is based on feminism alone.
McCain subscribes to the same economic tripe that is wiping out the US middle class. When I took Economics 101 (40 years ago), I learned that most economists (using their advanced Keynesian calculus equations) believed that progressive taxes were responsible for the rise of the middle class. McCain and his Republican allies have spent the last 8 years inadvertently trying to wipe us out. Also this same cabal is responsible for our prescription bill gravy train for the pharmaceutical industry prohibiting competitive bidding & leaving a huge donut hole vacuum which really hurts low income seniors. Both Hillary & Obama want most all Americans (especially children) to be covered by a national health care plan. Listen to any Republican & they say the energy crisis can be solved by more drilling -- and not by alternative ways of producing electricity (except nuclear-which Obama supports) or producing vehicles not dependent on fossil fuels - except for biofuels, which may be reapportioning our farmlands away from food production. We need to mandate ALL gasoline fueled vehicles produced in the US be plug-in hybrids capable of at least 40 miles on a plug-in charge. THIS IS NOT FANTASY.
If we mandate this change, we can reverse our balance of trade & balance of payment deficits within a decade.
Hillary & Barak both understand these principles of economics, health care and energy much better than any Republican ever will. These are just a few of the many issues that ought to make you think twice about voting with the "DARK SIDE".
Also please remember that approximately one out of ten voters (my guess) were Republicans and yellow-dog Democrats who listened to Rush Limbaugh & voted for her because they perceived she was the weaker candidate and I also think Limbaugh and his right-wing talk show cronies have amassed a large cache of damaging info that they think would have destroyed the H. Clinton campaign. We may never know.
Because of the Republican's lack of belief in governmental regulation, we have the subprime mortgage meltdown, toys that kill children, untested tainted meat that is probably responsible for about 10% of Altzeihmers cases, companies who have farmed out manufacturing and service industries to foreign countries without any negative consequences and rewarded by tax advantages. These are just a few of the many Republican failures that McCain is unlikely to fix, since he doesn't support very many government regulations on American business.
Also, if you don't think the Supreme Court is only 2 votes away from overturning Roe vs Wade, you've got your head buried.
Hillary and I know we have a better choice than following the path to economic and social disaster.
Rethink your opposition to Obama. Rejoin the party that makes sense & restores values and freedoms back to the American people. VOTE POSITIVE.

First off, I don't know what a jayhawk is other than a bird...
I am as opposed to the Bush/GOP assault on the country as you are, maybe moreso.
But, John McCain is not George Bush for one thing. For another, he will be a one-term President with a majority Democratic House and Senate.
That means he will not be able to wage his war unless the Democrats fund it. If they do, it's their stupid fault.
He will not be able to appoint a conservative judge to the Supreme Court with a 2/3 majority of the Senate. If he does not put up a moderate judge who will not reverse Roe, then he can sit out four years with a vacancy on the Court. If the Democrats do approve a conservative, then it's their own stupid fault.
McCain will be hamstrung by the Democratic majority. Basically, he will come into office as a lame duck. This means nobody in Congress will have any reason to bow to him or try to appease him. He will have very little power. Like Bush now.
Anything he does by Executive Order can be undone by the next President within minutes of taking office.
With McCain and the sure majority of Democrats coming to Congress, we will have four years of deadlock.
About healthcare, moving a universal healthcare plan to fruition will be time-consuming - four years at least. There's nothing to keep Hillary from developing that program within the Senate with the blessing of a Democratic majority and having it ready to implement on day one with the inauguration of the next President in four years. No time lost.
Sure, as President, McCain would do some damage - but nothing like Obama.
OBAMA IS NOT HILLARY WITH TESTICLES.
Hillary is a centrist, mainstream moderate and would govern from that place.
Obama is an uber-liberal, radical liberationist who hangs out with anti-American, reverse-racist cronies and Chicago racketeers.
This man is not what he claims to be. He espouses mainstream policies because that is the only way to win the election.
As for that urban legend about the impact Limbaugh had sending GOP votes to Hillary, it has been debunked repeatedly by exit polls.
As for what the GOP has waiting for sliming Hillary, it can't be worse than what they've thrown at her for years. They hate her.
Obama is an unknown, the press has protected him like an orphaned newborn.
Knowing where he has spent the last 20 years, I know there are buckets of mud to sling at him. I've walked in that world for 20 years myself. Then grew up and got out!
I'll take my chances on the Hillary sliming any day.
I haven't given up on Hillary. I trust the GOP to expose Obama over the next three months.
John McCain doesn't have a chance on his positions alone. Negative attacks are the only hope he has - and we know the Republicans will not hesitate.
But, no matter what - I will not vote for an uber-liberal radical of unknown intentions.
I'll write in Betty Boop first.
It's either Hillary or McCain or Betty Boop for me

You're very off base. Hillary and Barak have almost identical stances on most major issues, with just a few nuances of difference. Although if you read Nancy's blogs over the last year at face value, you'd think Barak was a raving, crazy rabble rouser.
You claim that you think Obama is a über-liberal con artist who associates with the dregs of the earth. The real truth is he is this generation's Bobby Kennedy who, if he stays alive & gets elected President, will probably exceed Bill Clinton's accomplishments. (Again, I have been and still am a Bill and Hillary supporter & voted for Hillary in the Oklahoma presidential primary.)
In an earlier posting, you mentioned that Obama's Trinity UCC influence was contrary to your belief supporting gay/lesbian rights. In reality, last summer, the United Church of Christ (UCC) became the first Christian denomination to endorse same sex marriage -- 80% of the UCC churches voted for this affirmation. I think we even beat the Episcopalians.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Church_of_Christ
My minister, Dr. Robin Meyers, of Mayflower Congregational UCC of Oklahoma City has been a real human rights activist for all his life.
http://miamiherald.typepad.com/gaysouthflorida/2008/03/gay-rights-advo.html
Just because Trinity UCC in Chicago has a couple of off-based characters in the pulpit supporting their home-grown son Barak, doesn't mean the UCC church denomination is evil.
http://www.gaychurch.org/Find_a_Church/united_states/us_oklahoma.htm
---John Hite, a proud liberal (straight) Oklahoma Democrat in the spirit of UCC members Hubert Humphrey, Sen Daniel Akaka of Hawaii, Sen Max Baucus of Montana, Julian Bond, William Sloane Coffin (Presbyterian/UCC), Gov Jon Corzine of NJ, Howard Dean, Bob Graham (former Senator from Florida), Sen Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, former Sen Jim Jeffords of Vermont, Sen Barak Obama of Illinois (recently resigned--I don't blame him), former Sen George Smathers of Florida, Oprah Winfrey & Andrew Young. (These and many others are listed in Wikipedia article United Church of Christ.)
PS - if Hillary or the Democratic governor of Kansas, Kathleen Sebelius, aren't selected as Barak's VP, Senator Max Baucus of Montana seems a willing, viable candidate or Bill Gates might be a great wild card pick. Also, LindaA1, Jayhawks are Kansans. It is the University of Kansas mascot.

John: You say
"Hillary and Barak have almost identical stances on most major issues, with just a few nuances of difference."
My point is that what Hillary and Obama espouse on the campaign trail is not the issue. Politicians always pander to the middle when running a campaign.
Hillary has a track record of positioning herself in the middle. She is a well-known moderate and lives in the mainstream.
Barak has little or no record other than that he has compiled since he decided to run for President - so you can bet he legislated from the middle there because that would be the politically expedient thing to do.
He has not lived his life in the mainstream - he has lived his life far OUTSIDE THE MAINSTREAM with radical uber-liberals and he did so because that is his element, reflecting his philosophy - his REAL world view.
Now we are supposed to believe he sat in that church for 20 years and listened to that various forms of that racist, hateful, sexist, anti-American garbage but had no attachment to it? He sat there with his two little girls - letting their minds be warped by this stuff - and had no attachment to it? REALLY!!!
(I have a bridge to sell in Brooklyn.)
You say:
"In an earlier posting, you mentioned that Obama's Trinity UCC influence was contrary to your belief supporting gay/lesbian rights..."
You have me confused with someone else. I never said anything like that. But I have no problem with gays and lesbians. Live and let live.
You say:
"Just because Trinity UCC in Chicago has a couple of off-based characters in the pulpit supporting their home-grown son Barak, doesn't mean the UCC church denomination is evil."
First, that bridge I mentioned is still for sale if you believe Pfleger and Wright were the only ones who are off-base in that church.
From the UCC Trinity films I saw (the Pfleger rant, the numerous Wright rants, the Moss rants - all of them) the congregation was frenzied in their approval - laughing, applauding, dancing with joy upon hearing bellowed words of sexism, reverse-racism, white hatred, anti-American slurs.
They did not do it once, they did it time after time with minister after minister. It was not an isolated incident of behavior.
IT WAS THE CONGREGATION OF TRINITY AND THEIR MASS APPROVAL AND JOYFUL CELEBRATION OF EVIL SPEAK that shocked me and most of the country.
You name Oprah Winfrey in your list of Trinity UCC members. I believe she resigned years ago because she disagreed with the goings-on in that church.
The others you list are members of other UCC churches, not Trinity. I believe numbers of UCC churches have disavowed the behavior on Obama's (conveniently) former church.
Thanks for the info on Kansas Jayhawks. I'd likely be proud to be one but I'm a happy being a Georgia Bulldog.

I originally thought I might know you & that is why I asked such a cryptic question -- Nancy set me straight. Thanks , also for letting me know where you're a Bulldog. I remember back in 1973-75, I had a friend from Georgia while I was stationed in Heilbronn, Germany who was from Georgia. I predicted that someday there would be a Martin Luther King holiday & he looked at me like I was from outer space & said it would never happen. Nancy (of hill4pres), on the other hand, laughed & fully agreed that MLK Day would be great for the country. (This is back in the fall of 1975 while we exploring North Africa, Eastern Europe & most of Western Europe, Ireland, & the UK. That was her 3rd trip to Europe & she had just turned 19 a few days before I met her. ---I have a hard time believing she can't support Obama without Hillary also being on the ticket. I voted twice for Republican presidents. I regretted both votes. ---John

I had no idea Oprah was ever a member of Trinity UCC. I just took the info off of Wikipedia (as I mentioned). Perhaps she is a member of another UCC congregation. I know not to trust everything I read on the internet, including many opinions/facts on this blog, but I do try to assimilate conclusions based on what I read. One of my goals in life, like we all should strive for, is to make the world a better place.

I'll agree with your description of the Trinity UCC congregation's failure to recognize their own racist behavior & improper conduct, since you've witnessed such appalling behavior on tape. I, too, would be uncomfortable in such an environment. Based on what you've written (and what I saw on TV from Rev. Wright & Rev Father Pfleger), I know Obama did the right thing for himself and his family in leaving his church home. However, I'll bet that Trinity members have a whole different outlook on their church's behavior.

I believe in McCain. I don't believe in Obama. It is their personalities and how they have conducted themselves during the campaigns. Obama is too far left for me. Voting for McCain is not illogical and self-defeating.
We can not just pull out of the Iraq war. Iran or some other county will move right in, if Iraq can not defend themselves In spite of what Obama or Hillary says. Common sense dictates that it would have to be gradual and done with extreme caution. McCain doesn't plan on keeping us there for 100+ years. On his website he states that the American Public won't allow it. Obama is not for gay marriage as McCain is not. Both support some type of commitment ceremony. Rowe vs Wade is almost a mute stance any more. So many young woman are choosing to have their babies and most often keeping them because of the counseling they now receive. Everyone knows the NCLB was not set up properly, Rush Limbaugh wanted to keep the Democrats fighting for a while longer. He stated that. So if Hillary could win, then it was not over for her. As long as the Democrats fight, then the Republicans have an easy road to the White House.

When a person votes for the presidency, sometimes it's more important to look beyond the policies and issues. Without the proper messenger, they are nothing. If you read about McCain, you will learn that he knows that the American public will not allow for the U.S. to stay in Iraq unless we see progress, By the way, a president's term is only 4 years, someone blogged that he would be in 8 years. Terms only last 4 years so I can't see him being there for 8 years. I have a 15 year old son who is thinking about joining so that he could be a pilot.

I love it when people say "He won fair and square!!!" that's the biggest lie of all. Howard Dean knows it. Does cheating at every caucus and buying off supers count? I know what I'm talking about. How about punishing certain states who moved up primaries but, not punishing others that favored Obama? Is that "fair and square" How about deciding it's not popular vote this time but, all about delegates when a few months ago Brazile herself said it wasn't.
Rigged. Along with Howard Deans ECHO affect and all the rest. If you think for two seconds this was fair and square then you are delusional. I won't vote for someone who cheats his way in JUST LIKE HE DID IN CHICAGO!! Evidence not rhetoric.
And btw, I don't trust that a man who rode into office on a blood bath of sexism has my best interests at heart at all. Please!!
A protest vote is just that and this time there is more than ample reason. You call it whatever you like but, maybe next time you won't get a "vote" Let's just have the DNC crown kings and queens then!
This guilt tripping crap is old. I know exactly why I am doing this and that blood on my hands shit? I work in a women's shelter and I don't see a single one of you protesting the thousands of women dying every year, beaten, raped and battered. I see you more concerned about the "coolest" thing to protest than that. I'm needed for other causes. The DNC just threw the most qualified candidate we ever had in forty years under a bus BECAUSE she was a woman. I saw it happen on prime time t.v.
You go on and stick with your "new" party. I want nothing to do with this crooked b.s. crowning.
She had EVERY right to take this to the floor and the media is saying he won the "nomination" He hasn't. But it will stand that way because if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth. Ted Kennedy went to the floor when he was six HUNDRED delegates down because it was a close race. This is the closest yet.
And one last thing. The more the media shouts for HER to get us all in line the more angry we are. Hillary Clinton does not have "followers" she has voters and we can speak out and make up our own minds. That is the most ludicrous thing I have ever seen the media do and I've seen a lot of b.s. in this campaign.
It is NOT Hillary Clinton's job to get anybody "in line" Obama can win us over on his own or not, he is the one we are angry at and it's NOT HER FAULT. We witnessed what happened...and we know the whole thing is rigged from 2004 on.
This is the biggest bunch of crap I've ever been involved in. They get away with it this time and nobody will have the right to "chose" any candidate.
Excuse me while I go register as an independent and then become a part of PUMA.
You saw what happened as well as I did if you are honest and btw, where was your oh so liberal outrage at the blatant sexism in the media while it was going on??? You didn't have to be voting for Hillary to speak out about it.

he's blamed her for everything else. it'll be her fault that all the people he made fun of by calling them bitter and angry went elsewhere.
I cannot believe she would NOT take it to the convention. They are ONLY 125 pledged delegates apart. Unheard of in history to be this close and NOT take it to the floor, especially when she won the popular vote....

what i'm trying to understand is why she suspended? i know the media has been shitty to her, but when you have that many pledged delegates and you know the supers can go back and forth up until the convention....
why not just take a vacation, come back and start to campaign against mccain?
then all of us could see WHO was the better one against old big mac....
i was really hoping to see hillary vs barack vs old mac in a debate....
no question hillary would have blown both of them out of the water...
so why bother to "suspend"?
If hillary is not on the ballot, then I'm voting for CYNTHIA MCKINNEY - GREEN PARTY CANDIDATE.

Cynthia:
"Suspending" instead of "ending" is a way to keep the campaign in limbo. It does a number of things:
It allows Hillary to continue raising money to help retire her debt.
It allows Hillary to restart her campaign if Obama falters.
It keeps Obama on his toes, knowing that Hillary is waiting in the wings if he slips up, or if more negatives pile up on him.
Technically, Hillary is almost as close to the nomination as he is. She has very close to the same number of elected delegates pledged to her and the Super Delegates are fluid.
She does not have to release her delegates to Obama until the convention votes to nominate him. Well, not even then, really. Holding your delegates is not a nasty Hillary strategy, it's common procedure in Primary Campaigns for a variety of reasons.
Obama is the "presumptive" nominee - meaning he has enough delegates who say they support him right now to win the nomination when the time comes for the voting to happen (Somewhere around August 25).
If he falters in any way that would make the 700 plus Super Delegates begin to view him as unelectable, they are perfectly free to switch their vote to Hillary - up to the final minute when they vote in August at the convention.
Little known is the fact that even the elected delegates can vote for whoever they want to - not commonly done on the first ballot, but almost always done on the second or third ballot at the convention.
This allows for the obvious nominee to get a unanimous vote to take into the General Election Campaign.
All this hoopla about Obama being the "nominee" is bogus. The press, the Obama campaign and the Obama supporters carry on like there's no tomorrow for Hillary. Don't believe it.
There just might be one.

Putting Hillary on the ballot as VP is a tactic designed to get you to vote for Obama. Hillary as VP will be shunted to the side.
It's a tactic designed to get you to shut up and accept that they can tell you what to do.
And the ONLY reason they'd do it is if they thought our defection would hurt their precious Obama.

Nancy had to remove some of the comments on this blog this morning because I posted a comment that exceeded 3000 characters. I cut and pasted a segment of a Wikipedia article & the Hill4pres site went down (at least the blog section). I e-mailed Nancy to let her know of the problem & she had to delete about 30 files to fix the problem. There were a lot of great comments lost. So if you're missing your posts on this site, I think you should try to reconstruct & repost your comments. Please accept my apologies, but the counter at the bottom of my comment said I was at 2992 characters, but I am sure I was WAY over the limit.--John

Sounds pretty sexist to me. In past elections, I'd always thought women as a demographic group did pretty well, but if this sort of ill-tempered hysteria (along with the emotional rather than factual justification) is any clue, it might be the female vote that dooms us to the loss of women's rights and the further decline of the nation. All because of a hissy-fit by people spending too much time watching Fox Entertainment News.

I get soooo tired of the racist drivel from the Obama supporters. Apparently, they live in some fantasy limbo where their wonderful candidate is immune from any criticism whatsoever; the *only* thing they are willing to see in any anti-Obama comment is racism. They engage in open sexism and racism themselves while charging all of us with it. It's just too ridiculous.
Obama is an empty suit. The only people who are excited about how 'fresh' and 'new' his candidacy is, are the CHILDREN who are getting their first at-bat. He is selling blue sky and rainbow stew. Every few years, another 'reform' candidate stumps out to rail at the 'Establishment'. Nothing at all new about it.
Those who insist that the only people who would criticize Saint Obama are nasty ol' white people, or nasty ol' white women, or nasty ol' white whatever, are the TRUE racists here. You utterly refuse to hear that your candidate is less than perfect. You are so invested in the idea that you can't be wrong, you sound more like Republicans than the Republicans do. "If you aren't with us, then you are with the terrorists, oops I mean the Republicans, oops I really mean the (White) Devil..." Obama is *not* the Second Coming, just because he is black, guys. And, not all the criticisms against him are racist. Nor sexist. Nor is everyone who doesn't like him filled with hate, or bigotry. Some of us just don't think he is suited to be the leader of the Free World. Deal with it. Stop being bitter children who can't take honest criticism. It's hard for us to take you seriously when you rant like this and fling accusations of racism at every person who does not dutifully fall down and worship him as you do. As for the sky falling if McCain gets the White House, maybe you should have considered that when you participated in disenfranchising those of us who supported Hillary. Actions have consequences, and Democrat is not a sacred vow of obedience, "my party right or wrong," that's the way the elephants behave. This is a political party, and political ends go beyond a single nomination, even for President. You act like the only thing at stake here is this single nomination. YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT that those of us who supported Hillary and now are looking at McCain are seeing: it is not about petty spite, and it is childish of you to insist this. It is about sending a message to the DNC to not mess with the process. It was wrong when the Reps undermined the process in 2000 and again in 2004, and it did not magically become OK just because it worked in favor of your candidate this time. That is not a 'racist' objection, nor is it petty or spiteful. It is about using the only force we have-- our vote-- to make the DNC stop trying to manipulate us like children. If YOU want to toady to the 'party line,' go right ahead. But I've had a bellyful of bitter black people spilling hate and calling US racists. Get over yourselves, it's not about YOU.

Good Democrat Friends, how did this happen? How did a perfectly qualified candidate like Hillary get kicked to the curb by your party for the likes of the far-left liberal, inexperienced B.H. Obama? I'm sad for your party and what it has become. John McCain may not have a D by his name but he is a moderate that will protect and serve all Americans equally. God help us if Obama is elected by the combination of the far-left and the unknowing and uncaring. Even a Hillary would be unable to undo the damage.

Nice try.
But try as you may, your attempts to characterize ticked off Hillary supporters as brainless hysterics won't work.
In fact, it is those very voters who have the foresight and honesty to vote out of principle instead of swooning over some empty shirt masquerading as the messiah.
Perhaps you cannot think past what YOU hear from the liberal press or perhaps you are one of the youngsters who does not have the wisdom to know what inexperience and radicalism can do to the country - but who are caught up in the fact that Obama's soooo cool with his gangsta fist bumps.
I would like to think you have actually thought through the choice of Obama, but I have yet to hear a good reason for supporting this guy that makes any sense. It always comes from some place of delusion.
In a good mind fight, I have yet to see an Obama supporter hold their own with facts and truth and logic.
They always cough up the same thing - Obama talking points, name-calling, pejorative mischaracterizations of others or down-right fuzzy thinking.
How's that for a hissy fit?

Hi B -
I think most Americans know Obama's middle name is Hussein -- but it is not stopping him from currently leading McCain in national popularity. We are a divided party, but most of you CONVENIENTLY ignore the fact that Obama's platform is nearly identical to Hillary's. I know many of you say he "stole" it, but so what?
There are three candidates who represent the best altruistic attitudes of what America should be, Hillary, Barak & John. But McCain's political beliefs are not much different that George Bush & look where that has put America in the eyes of God & the eyes of the world. The world is excited about the changes going on in America & I personally think Barak justifies those great expectations. --- John

John: You say...
"Obama's platform is nearly identical to Hillary's. I know many of you say he "stole" it, but so what?"
So what? What about principle?
Obama DID parrot Hillary's positions because he had none and that was an easy, lazy way to get up and going fast - and it had the convenient side perk of sidelining Hillary's long thought-out vision of things...because "his vision" is the same as hers, leaving nothing to argue about.
Clever of him. And typical.
This man holds himself up to be a "new" kind of politician, not a player of the same old games - yet he is cunning, underhanded and ruthless:
1) he used the money and influence of convicted Chicago slumlord Tony Rezko to knock his first two opponents off the ballot on a minor technicality in his first statehouse election in Illinois so that he could run unopposed - guaranteeing his election. Ruthless and bad spirited.
2) He used his lawyers to stop Florida and Michigan from being able to re-vote even though the election would have been paid for by volunteers - thereby disenfranchising millions of voters. Ruthless and bad spirited.
3) He took his name off the Michigan primary ballot, not because the ballots might not count, but because he knew Hillary was going to whip his butt there. Taking his name off gave him the excuse of crying foul when she won and demanded the votes. Then he stacked the DNC in his pocket and got ALL, ALL the uncommitted votes in Michigan - even though there were other candidates not on the ballot that people voted "uncommitted" for. Still not satisfied, the ruthless Obama stole 4 more delegates from Hillary that the people of Michigan went to the polls and personally voted for her - and against him!
HE STOLE VOTES FROM MICHIGAN VOTERS WHO VOTED SPECIFICALLY AGAINST HIM!!!
There's more - much more that I don't have time to list.
Ruthless, clever, calculating, underhanded, spiteful, with not real relationship with fair play. And his relationship to the truth is his only real claim to a "foreign" policy.
And you want Hillary supporters to vote for this SLICK, RUTHLESS POLITICIAN who makes Nixon's underhandedness look like a bad tumbling act?

Hi LindaA1-
In response:
1. I don't think Rezko is a very honest person, but you can't have angels as 100% of your supporters. Remember a couple of facts. Obama received contributions from far more Americans than Hillary received. Also, he is likely a victim of the U.S. Attorney massacre engineered by Karl Rove. Rove's mantra was to summarily fire most U.S. Attorneys who were either prosecuting Republican office holders or their contributors or refused to prosecute Democratic supporters of Hillary. There is a Republican county commissioner in Oklahoma County that is likely guilty of a lot of egregious campaign sins (probably worse than Rezko), but I doubt if he'll be charged. He is running for reelection, but I think the Republicans will throw him out, before the November election.
2. Hillary, if she had done what the party asked her to do, would have removed her name from Michigan's ballot. If you look at Michigan's demographics, it was slanted to support Obama. I don't know what the state polls indicated, but I know Detroit would have likely been overwhelmingly for Obama, had he been on the ballot. I know many displaced auto workers would have voted for Hillary, but the intellectual grads of the University of Michigan & Michigan State would have voted for Obama (I think.)
3. The superdelegates of Oklahoma (& the rest of the nation) decided to overwhelmingly vote for Obama-- even to the political displeasure of their electorate. Gov. Brad Henry of Oklahoma is one of these superdelegates that drew much ire for the state Democrats when he announced he was voting for Obama. But I really think there is a huge black flag about either Hillary or Bill or both that the nation doesn't know about that made the superdelegates vote in lockstep for Obama. This is pure speculation on my part, but how else can we explain the actions of the nation's superdelegates? Hopefully, if there is such deleterious info unexposed, I hope it stays unexposed. Enough dirty tricks!

1) I don't think anybody questions the guilt of Tony Rezko. He was found guilty by a jury of his peers and his shenanigans have apparently long been common knowledge in Chicago. Since his conviction last week, nobody has sprung to his defense - I haven't even heard a protest from him. Barack certainly is distancing himself from Rezko with the speed of a runaway train.
2) I didn't hear anything about MI being a state favoring Obama in the run up to the primary there, and I'm obsessive about that kind of info. Blue collar workers make up the most of the voters there. I believe exit polls support the fact that the colleges and universities have relatively little impact outside their districts on the total vote in a state because the numbers are so low comparatively.
3)I think the superdelegates voted for Obama because they believed he would be the eventual winner and they wanted to make damn sure they were on the right team. I believe Kerry, Kennedy et al are a bunch of old losers who knew that if Hillary won, they would not be in the spotlight - Hillary has Bill, the former President, who needs the old has-beens around. They hitched their wagon to a "star" that needed them in hopes of regaining a little of their lost luster in Congress. They look like big shots next to Obama. They look diminished next to Hillary and Bill.

Hi LindaA1--
1. I really don't know all the Rezko details, but I do know there are a lot of U.S. Attorneys really looking over their shoulder & having to make moral decisions as to whether to do the right thing or keep their well-paying job.
http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/03/30/205/
2. Everyone I've ever met from Michigan (mostly University of Michigan & Michigan State grads) were always as smart or smarter than me. I view Michigan & Minnesota as progressive states. There is an exit poll that bears out both of out positions (from Wikipedia):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_Democratic_primary,_2008
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21225987
3. Maybe your right, but I'm telling you a lot of politicians took very considerable political risk to support Obama. I reference my young governor, Brad Henry of Oklahoma. The politically easy thing would have been for him to support Hillary, since my state voted overwhelmingly for Hillary.

Hi Everyone -
As many of you know who have read the many threads on this blog site, I am a Bill and Hillary supporter & voted for Hillary in the Oklahoma Democratic primary.
I just received my U.S. News mag (dated June 18, 2008) today & it had some very enlightening comments. Bret Schulte wrote an article "A Quiet, Yet Historic Moment": "For black America the feeling is is something like 'Hallelujah and amen!' says Melissa Harris-Lacewell, an associate professor of politics and Afro-American studies at Princeton. Her phone is ringing with friends saying 'I can't believe it happened in my lifetime'".
http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/campaign-2008/2008/06/06/obamas-victory-is-a-quiet-yet-historic-moment.html
Please ask yourself if you wouldn't have had similar feelings if Hillary been victorious (with the most delegates).
Also in this magazine was a commentary from Gloria Borger that each one of you should read.
http://www.usnews.com/articles/opinion/gborger/2008/06/06/its-not-about-you-hillary.html
Also, be realistic. If Hillary had not been in this campaign and Barak Obama was the Democratic party nominee, most of you would be overjoyed!!
Please read these 2 articles & pray for guidance (if you're religious like me) or at least give weight to these points of view.
Thanks. --- John

Hey John!
Like I just posted, Obama supporters just can't grasp the facts. Come 'on now!
BARACK OBAMA IS NOT THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE - HE IS THE "PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE."
He has to get past three months of GOP vetting and exposure to reach that vote for the nominee at the convention. Hillary - and John Edwards - are waiting in the background with "suspended" campaigns, just waiting to come back.
As for Gloria Borger, she is a right wing Republican. All Republicans are desperate for Obama to make it over the finish line - because they know they can beat him. You're gonna hear a massive amount of disingenuous praise for Obama until the convention, then they'll massacre him.
And it's just like Obamaphiles to start the celebration before the game is won! Another detachment from reality. Another dance with delusion.

If the Republican party thinks Obama is a patsy, why did Rush Limbaugh and many other right-wing radio hosts ask their Republican listeners (and yellow-dog Democrat listeners) to vote for Hillary?
This might give credence to my speculation of something about Bill or Hillary being "wrong in Denmark" (& the U.S.).

JOHN- You say
"If the Republican party thinks Obama is a patsy, why did Rush Limbaugh and many other right-wing radio hosts ask their Republican listeners...to vote for Hillary?"
Easy. That was when Hillary was still the favored to win - before the Rezko / Wright / Pfleger / other stuff started popping up.
Then for a while there, Rush wanted to keep the primary going by keeping Hillary in the race so he kept pushing Hillary - to promote Democratic chaos.
Things have changed now. Republicans are smart enough to see that Hillary finished strong. The ministers/racketeer/terrorist/ Bittergate news rocked Obama's boat and the electorate changed their minds.
Too bad the liberal media was able to keep Obama's blemishes under raps during the first part of the primaries when people voted for him in good faith, believing he was Mr. Everyman - and Woman.
Now voters know better. If Iowans voted today, Obama would lose in a landslide. Such would be the case in all the other blue collar states.
We have yet to see polls measuring buyers remorse for Obama.
Oops! A poll just came out on MSNBC: it showed Hillary beating McCain among women by 14%. Obama loses women to McCain by 6%.
That's huge! Guess how the MSNBC-Obama Express analyzed the shocking poll? Basically, Chris Matthews and the pool of pundits said it didn't mean anything.
Republicans are pragmatic about their elections and their candidates - they know how to win.
Democrats live in a fantasy world about their candidates. Look how Chris and his pundits closed their eyes to today's poll. Look at the record of election results for the past 50 years. Geez!
So, why are they pulling for Obama now? Because they see what a loser he really is.
The DNC, like Obama supporters, are blind to reality.

Remember you a skewing the results of your poll towards women & especially older women & men.
Every poll I have seen recently shows Obama defeating McCain substantially among ALL voters. In fact, his popularity seems to be growing. I am not claiming to be a great prognosticator, but I am betting his numbers keep growing as people get to know him better & compare him with McCain in debates. I think Hillary would also have bested McCain by a mile. Remember, both Hillary and Barak have law degrees, Hillary from Yale & Barak from Harvard (magna cum laude from the law school).
Both are incredibly intelligent.

Another poll that just came out tonight (The National Gallup Poll for week of June 10) shows -
Barack Obama 48%
John McCain 42%
Now that may look good but this poll represents Obama's "bump" after locking up the nomination (presumptive) and Hillary's endorsement.
Problem is, the average "bump" for candidates at this stage for the last 20 years has been 13%
That landslide you all are predicting has started off with Obama getting only half the bump candidates normally get.
Oh dear!
(There's that pesky Obama "buyer's remorse" I've been blogging about.)
There's certainly a lot of celebrating going on for a candidate who is clearly and indisputably on the downhill.

Every election is different. Naturally his "bump" is lower than previous years because there are a lot of Hillary supporters that refuse to back him, in spite of what I think are his magnetic charisma and outstanding qualifications to be President. No campaigner in history came closer to winning than Hillary (except Bobby Kennedy who would have been the Democratic nominee had he lived.) Also, many times the Democratic nominee may get a good bump, but still starts off with negative poll numbers.
I imagine that you're really surprised and surely disappointed that Obama has the early lead. And I do think & hope the debates will increase his popularity with the American people & even possibly win over the hearts & minds of people like you and Nancy (the publisher of hill4pres blog site).
I am sure my friend Nancy was really heartbroken by Hillary's failure to win the majority of delegates. Nancy spent a lot of time & money supporting Hillary. She is very gifted in persuading others & very confident in everything she believes. From her blogs, she feels angry & betrayed by her party.
But, I am VERY optimistic the Barack Obama will likely be our next President. The American people are too focused on making a clear change from past failed policies & want an entirely different regime to make this nation great again.
We have had 20 years of a Bush or Clinton in the White House & I think most people want to let someone totally new take our country's reins. And to many of us McCain is an old man with tired old ideas.

It is easy to explain. I have supported Bill and Hillary through thick and thin & also Nancy has always kept me posted on all her adventures with the campaign. She went to Oregon & Texas & lives in California. She really put her heart & soul into the campaign & because of friendship & because I believed Hillary to be the best candidate, I voted for her & supported her.
But she lost. Barak is a great candidate. I remember seeing Bobby Kennedy at the University of Oklahoma before he announced his candidacy for president & I see much of Bobby in Barak.
I haven't switched sides. I still would have favored Hillary, but Barak seems to be the better candidate at this point. I think we need to move on unless something catastrophic happens. I was in my formative years when John, Bobby & Martin were assassinated. I think some of you will vote for John McCain, but I want to stimulate your mindsets with some cogent reasons to reconsider. Haven't been here in awhile. Lot's going on.
Look - neither McCain or Obama have a good economic plan, yet the economy is the #1 issue.
Here is lies how stupid the democratic party is. Hillary Clinton was considered the BEST candidate with regards to the economy because those of us that lived through the 90's of the Clintons and how Bill turned it around remember that this WOULD be the best solution for America. Hillary Clinton consistently polled the highest on this issue.
Second, since both candidates are weak on the economy, it will come down to national security and here in lies another stupid mistake the Democrats made. They selected the weakest candidate in this area as well. Hillary Clinton, in spite of her vote to give Bush the authority to go to war, has sat side by side with McCain on the Arms Services committee and she would be far more trusted by the public than Obama.
The media has been enthralled with BO for months, this will change as we move towards November. His weakness on policy issues will show and America will see that McCain is the one to be trusted.
I still believe that Clinton might pull this off in an upset at the Convention. I say that because the delegate count is extremely close, she won the popular vote and if Obama falters in the next month or so, she will be waiting in the wings. It could happen.
But again, either scenerio almost surely will give McCain the edge especially since so many Clinton supporters have moved away from Obama. Another failure of the Democratic party. They saw all the exit polls which showed time after time that supporters of Sen. Clinton would not vote for Obama - 20-30% consistently stated that. Obama supporters lack of support for Clinton was much lower (10-15%). The party made another error in selecting the weaker candidate.
It'll be McCain for 4 more years.
Then, hopefully, Hillary Clinton 2012

The real facts are Barrack Obama's economic platform is very similar to Hillary's. It was crafted by many of the same disciples of Paul Samuelson & the Keynesian economic theory that Bill Clinton's advisors subscribed.
I think you'll soon discover that Obama is as smart as Bill Clinton & has economic advisors second to none. I think the debates will solidify my opinion of his intelligence.
From Wikipedia:
"Following high school, Obama moved to Los Angeles, where he studied at Occidental College for two years. He then transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialization in international relations. Obama graduated with a B.A. from Columbia in 1983...
He entered Harvard Law School in 1988. His election in 1990 as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review was widely reported. Greetings militarydem,
I agree that the Democratic Party has been really stupid, that Hillary has the
best economic plan, has won the popular vote and *still* has a chance to be victorious at the DNC convention.
You wrote:

Believe me, the second Hillary gets back into the race, ALL her supporters who have gone to McCain will be back in a flash!
I don't understand why Clinton supporters are racing to McCain right now. They should *wait* until the convention vote for the democratic nominee is official. Yes, we can express a desire for McCain over Obama (and pledge money to McCain's campaign *if* HRC doesn't get the Democratic nod in August) - which sends a STRONG message to the superdelegates and the DNC that they made a mistake with Obama.
But let's not be too hasty to throw all our support to McCain before we know for sure who the Democratic nominee is. Bottom line, NObama! - no matter what it takes.
But even more important, is to get Hillary the nomination in 2008. Like you said, there's still a chance.

1. If you don't support Obama, you're not a Democrat and never have been.

I don't get your point. I am an Oklahoman & most of us Democrats here in my state are highly independent & try to pick the best person for each elective position. However, that doesn't mean that I can't be both a Hillary and Barack supporter at the same time. Nor do I condemn Democrats who support McCain. I just know that many Hilary supporters are very upset by her loss, in spite of committing their time & resources to her election. Since I am a personal friend of Nancy (the host blogger of Hill4pre), I just wanted to give her and the many people who comment on this board some alternative points of view that MIGHT hit enough points to make them reconsider supporting John McCain, whom I think has served his country admirably & is really a much better Republican than most ideologue-bound U.S Senators. *IF* Hillary doesn't win over the superdelegates in August, then we all WILL be voting for John McCain. Not because we believe in his policies, but because we know we can keep him in check with a veto-proof Democratic congress.
Barack Obama is NOT "a far better choice" than McCain. We cannot allow the DNC to do to us what the RNC and supreme court did to us in 2000.
So, Nancy's friend or not, you are not going to change our minds on this site!

Hi Yolanda---
Why do you feel McCain would have a Democratic Senate & Congress? The Senate is currently composed of 49 Democrats and 49 Republicans & 2 Independents. A McCain Election would certainly bring a majority of Republicans to the Senate. He likely will have the opportunity to stack the Supreme Court with enough Justices to overturn Roe vs. Wade for the next generation. I think it is a wild-hare scheme to think Hillary would necessarily be the default choice of the party 4 years from now if McCain is elected.
Although I am a Hillary supporter, I think you and like minded Democrats and Independents need to get realistic. Barack Obama's values may be the most liberal in the Senate, but he is no more liberal than Sen Ed Brooke (of Massachusetts) was a generation ago & he represents the best of American values of freedom, privacy, fiscal responsibility and fair-play morality that has been virtually destroyed by Bush & the Karl Rove clique.
We have a chance to make a national course correction now & not have to wait 4 more years. Perhaps the nation will NEVER change course & we will needlessly bankrupt future generations both morally & financially.

Based on Obama's actions, I don't believe him to be as liberal as he appears. If he were, he wouldn't have been a member of a racist church, he wouldn't have thrown my gay son under the bus, and he woulnd't have voted for the Bush / Cheney enegry bill, to name a few items.
I saw how he conducted his campaign: Lofty rhetoric and everytime he had the opportunity to stand up as a statesman, he failed to do so. Rembember, "I'm a uniter, not a divider?"
It only takes 40 Democrats to filibuster a Supreme Court nominee. It the Democrats want to honor the Lieberman Gang of 14 deal, then it simply shows that my party is a bunch of cowards and they don't deserve to lead our country.
The Democratic Party needs to be slapped down. Their actions to push Obama and destroy Hillary should not be rewarded. I'm not going to reward the Democratic Party for their illicit behavior by voting for Obama - their love child.
The Democratic Party and the Obama campaign should have thought about the consequences of their actions before they manipulated Obama into the nomination.

Hi Albert Prince -
Please remember that the United Church of Christ (of which Trinity UCC is a member) is our nation's first religious denomination to affirm same sex marriages.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Church_of_Christ
I will agree that the ravings of Rev. Jeremiah Wright & the Rev. Father Flaegler & the inappropriate reactions of choir members to Flaegler's rants against Hillary turns my stomach. And I hope if I had been in the audience I would have stood up and challenged Flaegler for his truly offensive sermon (totally sexist & demeaning). But afterwards, Obama made the right choice & quit his church.
The head of the UCC hopes Obama will find another UCC congregation to join.
http://www.christianpost.com/article/20080602/32633_UCC_President_Expresses_Concern_for_Obama,_Trinity_Church.htm
As I outlined in an earlier thread on this blog, I am a proud UCC member. My minister, Dr. Robin Meyers of Mayflower Congregational UCC Church, is perhaps the most famous minister in Oklahoma (infamous in many fundamentalist Christian eyes).

Also, in spite of all of us being Hillary supporters (and to me, Barack is a close 2nd), Bill and Hillary have probably alienated too many Democrats for her to get nominated 4 years or 8 years from now. I am just being realistic.
I think Obama voted for the Bush/Cheney energy bill, as did many other Democrats, because it is better to do something than nothing. However, Bush & Cheney & most Republicans are lapdogs of the oil industry & give short shrift to anything alternative except biofuels.
I wrote in an earlier thread one about requiring all new vehicles world wide to be plug-in hybrids that can get 40+ miles on a charge. I saw yesterday on CNET news that Ford Motor Co is getting the message & wants Congress to perhaps require this by 2014, if the technology works & is affordable with government subsidies.

Hi Everyone ---
To be fair, John McCain is no lapdog Republican. He HAS voted against offshore drilling in California & Florida. I know Nancy (author of hill4pres), her mom & I would be really upset if the federal government permitted offshore drilling in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach or Redondo Beach or the Palos Verdes Peninsula of LA County. If LA residents look at El Segundo or Wilmington-Long Beach Harbor, we can see what happens with offshore drilling permits: UGLY BEACHES or none at all.

UPDATE -
I saw in this morning's paper (Daily Oklahoman, Tuesday, June 17th) that McCain is now supporting federal offshore drilling in all states which heretofore have prohibited new drilling. WHOA -- watch out Miami, LA, San Francisco & Seattle. McCain is inadvertently advocating massive beach destruction!!! --- John

All the more amazing that the racist and hateful Bigot Obama was a UCC member.
Then again, I can't imagine why Trinity United hasn't been kicked out of the UCC since Trinity's theology has no more to do with Christianity than Westboro Baptist Church:
http://www.godhatesfags.com/
or, the World Church of the Creator:
http://www.churchofthecreator.org/
Obama voted for the Bush Cheney Energy Bill. Hillary and McCain voted against it.
As for hybrid vehicles, there are other technologies coming soon that don't use petroleum for fuel at all.
TaTa Motors (The Indian car company that recently bought Jaguar), has a vehicle that runs on compressed air. Maximum speed is 68 MPH. It has a range of 150 miles on one tank of air, and a fill up should cost about $2.00. The car will sell for just over $12,000.

Hi -
The UCC is an assimilation of various churches bound by their support of Chirst.
A church's beliefs & tenets can vary from church to church. For example, my church doesn't believe that there is any biblical reason to support the concept of the Trinity. (I miss singing the traditional Doxology praising Father, Son & Holy Ghost.) Since I was 12 years old, I personally found some of Paul's letters were contrary to Christ's teachings to the consternation of my conservative "the Bible is God's Word" Sunday school teacher. And yet Trinity UCC Church is NAMED for the concept of the Trinity.
As individuals and as UCC churches we are only bound by God's love & Christ's teachings.
Personally, I will bet that 99% of Trinity's sermons & teachings would reflect the best of Christian and moral values.

Hi again, Albert Prince -
There are 4 types of alternative vehicles that I can think of that beat the heck out of our gas guzzling cars & trucks: All electric vehicles, air powered vehicles (which are usually too light to meet U.S. safety requirements), CNG vehicles (which my brother owns a CNG truck for his plumbing business) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
Please note plug-in hybrids are only an intermediary solution on the way to all electric vehicles. If you'll read back my text, I said that all GASOLINE vehicles should be required to be plug-in hybrids that can get at least 40 miles on a plug in charge.
I am sure within a decade, these plug-in hybrids will cease to exist when lithium -ion batteries and new technologies become cheap enough to displace plug-in hybrids. After all, if batteries can power a vehicle for 300 miles on a 5 minute plug-in charge, what need do we have for a gasoline engine? Especially since plug-ins fuel cost currently average 2¢ per mile for electricity versus 17¢ per mile for gasoline.

obama just moved the dnc to chicago, the most polically corrupt city in the us.
he wants to take control of it.
seems he's trying to pull a fast one over on hillary - both he an dean are doing all possible to keep her from being on the ballot at the august convention.
rumor has it that they are gonna try to cancel the convention in denver and bring it to chicago, much smaller and keep hillary off of the ballot.
if that happens - i would leave the party for good.

I can believe it's normal to move some of the DNC activities to Obama's home base since he is the presumptive nominee but I don't think there is any way they can move the convention.
That seems like a rumor to me. I haven't seen anything in the MSM like that, not that I trust the MSM for anything.
I have read or heard that the DNC is moving more than normal of its activities to Obama because the DNC has no money. It seems Hillary's supporters are withholding contributions to them.
Has anybody seen any real evidence of the convention move?

I wouldn't put anything past Obama. He proved in his first state election campaign that he will use every technicality & loophole to push everybody out of his way.
He got his rivals thrown off the ballot in Chicago on a minor technicality, including a favorite incumbent, and he used his lawyers to keep FL and MI from re-voting.
How unfair and unAmerican is that?
I really believe that if he can find a way to take Hillary's remaining delegates, get her off the ballot and cancel the convention, he wouldn't hesitate.
The man has shown himself to be ruthless in his quest for power.
Reply to this
The DNC headquarters have never been moved to the home state of any nominee, or even a sitting Democratic President.
The convention won't be moved from Denver, no matter what the rumors may be because Obama needs Colorado and moving the convention from Denver to Chicago would most certainly kill any chance of carrying Colorado.

I think maybe the moving of the campaign is a false rumor, but I think we really have to watch Howard Dean and the Obama Campaign about getting Hillary to give up her delegates and get her name off the ballot.
That I can see the bastards doing. We all need to keep a close watch and report anything we see going that way.
I'm wondering where that piece of information originated. Do you know?
They'll turn the world upside down to elect the Dahlibama!

I am so glad I found folks that agree with me! This was Hillary's year. I am still agnry an inexperienced, elitest, and backed by the far left MAN could take this away from her. He has no qualifications to stand on... He has no policy other than towing the party line... He has never offered any memorable change... He has NOT worked with moderate Republicans as Hillary has done...
Obama's gaming of the state caucuses (and unfrotunately Hillary's handling of them) brought us here. I think we need to vote for McCain and get Hillary in the White House in 4 years time.
In the meantime we need to fix the Democratic primary process so that we the voter actually choose...

Hi Chris K!
Welcome aboard! I agree with all you said, except that I'm doing my best to educate the super delegates so they will vote for Hillary this August.
We can't throw in the towel and send our complete support to McCain until we know *for sure* that Hillary won't be the nominee at the end of August.
The problem with the state caucuses is that they made it very difficult for the elderly, single parents, and those who work to attend - all the people who would have voted for Hillary.
Am with you 100% about wanting to fix the Democratic primary process! A good start will be to send the DNC, the Obama campaign and the liberal Obama press the message that we won't be disrespected, dismissed and cheated.
We need to continue to work to get Hillary the nomination, and if she doesn't, then we'll vote McCain!

Looks like things are getting even better on the growing Democratic Majority for the fall.
First, the Dems have won by huge margins the four special elections for Republican-vacated seats held so far. That has the GOP scrambling.
I read somewhere (I can't remember where) that the margin in the house could be as much as 100 Democrats.
Even the nonpartisan and extremely cautious Cook Political Report had been predicting Democratic House gains of 10-20 seats but just recently moved 10 more Republican-held districts into its vulnerable category.
Looks like it's going to be a solid majority at the very least.
That makes voting for McCain tolerable. We know he can't do much with the Democratic Majority hanging over him, especially on the Supreme Court and on waging more war.
SO DON'T LISTEN TO THE OBAMA SUPPORTER RANTS ABOUT HOW MCCAIN WILL TAKE AWAY WOMEN'S RIGHTS AND KEEP US IN IRAQ!

Yes, you're absolutely right about the Senate confirmation process.
I haven't seen a lot of actual analysis yet about how the Senate Majority will shake out, but I've seen pundits project that it could be as much as a 60/40 Democratic margin.
I'm just supposing that with the House Majority polling so many gains, that the Senate gains will be way more than enough to bind McCain up on his nomination pick if s/he is a conservative.
Like you say, they have to have a two-thirds majority to confirm. They couldn't even do that right now with the sitting Senate.
VOTE HILLARY! or vote McCain - it's a safe thing to do.

Have the DNC lost their minds? Moving their headquarters to Chicago, the home of hoodlums, racketeers, and Barack Obama?
Streamlining? How about massive takeover of the Democratic Party?
HAS THE DNC GIVEN A THOUGHT TO WHAT HAPPENS IF THE DAHLIBAMA DOES NOT BECOME THE NOMINEE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AT THE CONVENTION???
So then Hillary is stuck with the DNC headquarters in Chicago instead of Washington DC - where it should be?
So then Hillary is stuck with the DNC headquarters - out of town and busting with Obamabots - with two months left in the general election?
In the background right now, I am watching a stupid movie call "Infected2" about some foreign virus of beings taking over the city - the mayor, the police, etc. Really dumb, in fact, I can't believe I haven't turned it off.
But I can't. I want to see how it turns out. It seems relevant somehow.
Read about the takeover:

Of course O Bam! Bam! BAMA would move the DNC organization to his turf. He's a slick Chicago thug himself and he wants complete control of the Democratic Party.
Did you hear what he said yesterday in Philly?
"If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. Because from what I understand, folks in Philly like a good brawl. I've seen Eagles fans."
Barack Obama is a gangster in sheep's clothing. He flips Hillary Clinton off his shoulder pretending to be Jay-Z at a political rally. He does a gang fist pump with his wife while accepting the "presumptive" nominee status and THEN he slaps his wife on the butt in front of millions of American men, women and children as she walks away from him.

I'm disgusted more every day.
What a role model for the country! What a disgrace for our children to look up to!
How stupid can young people - and others - be to idolize this guy as a possible president, like they idolize drugged out, pumped up, sex and violence-loving rock stars?
We have to get our Hillary back! Our country - the world - is at stake!

If Obama was talking about opponents attacking during the campaign, I agree completely that we should bring a gun when the Republicans bring a knife.
The problems is that it is directly contradictory to his claims of creating a new kind of politics and I think that if the Republicans bring a gun, Obama would bring a butter knife.
Simply put, I don't believe he has the gonads to stand up to the relentless public beating he and his family are about to receive from Republicans and right-wingers.
I was horrified when Obama said that Hillary had toughened him up and now he's ready for whatever the Republicans can throw at him. He's such a joke. I would have laughed at him except that he made me nauseous. What a pompous little jerk he is. He doesn't have a clue what he's in for. I could've felt sorry for him 6 months ago. Now, I'm afraid I will enjoy watching the Republicans have their way with him.

I think you're wrong about Obama's ability to fight off the Republican naysayers & dirty tricksters. So far, he has responded quickly and intelligently to MOST of the attacks on his character & positions. The only delay was rectified when he resigned from Trinity Church.

Really, Obama wants to control the entire Democratic party??? Huh? That was the Clinton's job. The expectation that the entire party would just be handed to her was palpable, and a major reason she was defeated.
So, which is it? Do you want a marshmallow? Or a fighter? Because as I understand Hillary fans, they like a fighter. So, what you have in Obama is a fighter with class.
He has seldom stooped to the lowest forms of attack, except when defending himself. And many things are justifiable in self defense.
Obama tried to keep the discussion during the primary pretty unmuddied, it was your beloved Hillary that lowered it into the muck.
Politics is a rough and tumble sport. Look at the withering attacks as far back as the Lincoln presidential campaign, it would curl your hair. So, this is the candidate. Strong and fast enough to reply with class. And if it gets ugly, he can gut that out too and still be the better person.

Obama has had such a free ride from the press! And he's had a gazillion dollars worth of free protection from them so he has no clue what it will feel like when the GOP machine starts hitting him.
I'm just wondering if the press will even run stories about the negatives the GOP puts out there. They certainly hid them under the breaking news of an LA car chase, etc. when Hillary was in the running.
We bloggers have to hang in there because the press WILL be diluting, deflecting and diminishing any negative news about their beloved Obama.
I'm curious about how the media will handle their love affair with Obama which - it would seem - conflicts with their previous love affair with McCain.
Will they and McCain become ex-lovers now that there's a cuter, younger, cooler guy in their lives? Obama has shown he knows how to whisper sweet nothings in the ear of anyone who'll listen - and tell them anything they want to hear.
We need some really good strong spokespeople for the No Obama / Hillary supporters to go on TV.
We need to get our message out past the blogs to reach the older folks who do not use computers and others who are on the fence, or those who are not paying attention to election happenings yet.

Wow... the No Obama/Hillary supporters?????? Wow.
Your candidate has said, point blank, we're all democrats, so you Hillary supporters should support Obama now... (which by the way, is BY FAR going to yield the more feminist, gay supportive, anti-war, democratic goals than John McBush)... So do that. Now.
Support the democratic candidate. Yes, hold the candidate to your serious pro-gay, pro-woman, whatever your issue is, agenda... whenever, where ever you can... but support him, because you won't get even 5% the same cooperation out of McBush. Seriously.
C'mon... it's just not rational to expect more of what you want out of McCain and you KNOW it. You're still angry and fair enough, but get your act together by November. Okay?
Because if you don't, then you're a living oxymoron... (like a pro-lifer who believes it's okay to KILL an abortion doctor.)
You're a democrat. And if you can get over your anger and stop being selfish, you'll put the needs of your country, the soldiers who are stuck in Iraq, the working class poor and everyone else who doesn't have the luxury of just TALKING about how bad things have gotten, but is living it on a daily basis.
Your anger is not more important than those things. It's just not.

If you can back up everything you said with facts then I might listen, sounds like you need to educate yourself before making bold statements.
You don't like him ok but stooping to high school tactics is tacky, I can't believe that people buy into these lies.
Instead of posting ignorant statements post something that is truthful.
lying - Details please......
spiteful - Don't think so try again.....
disingenuous - He has been very straightforward in this campaign, but as any person people are entitled to change their mind and last I check their is nothing wrong with that......
sexist - Come again, he didn't say or do anything for you to make this wild accusation......
reverse racist - Do you know him or have you been around him to support this, or show me something he has said or done, please only him not people that were his friends as last I checked he cut his ties with them......
racketeer obligated - Last time I check he has done nothing illegal, check your facts then come again. Then take a look into the Clinton's History. Perfect no
terrorist-friendly - Again another tactic to put doubt into peoples head, he is not Muslim if so proof please....
politically juvenile - Don't think so....
presidential fake seal loving - all I can do is laugh at this one haaaa....
arrogant - He is confident yes but arrogant thats a little of the top ya think....
radical - OK
black liberation theologist - Too funny
gang-banger fist pumping - That can be considered a racist statement to some, as to label him as such is truly ignorant on your behalf....
public wife butt slapping - That didn't make no damn sense again can be interpeted as a racist statement come again........
off shoulder flipping - I'm getting bored ha ha
pompous - Don't think so
cocky - Wow, pompous, cocky, again just your opinion
bump/bounce-less - Pleahlesssss
Olympic-style under the bus tossing - Nice try
inexperienced- Name one person that has experience to run a whole country, again this is not true as last time I check Hillary doesn't have any either, serving as a first-lady and senator this gives you experience how, come on this is getting tired.....
130 times present voting - That just means he is not for or against just neutral on the matter in question, nothing wrong with that. Besides this is old news
6 times oops! wrong button pushing - You are really trying hard aren't you
beyond uber-liberal - All I can do is laugh at this point...
petulant - I haven't seen this in him at all....
thin-skinned - Don't think so
flip-flopping - Example please
flop-flipping - Whatever
flip-flopping - Whatever
Kennedy wannabe - Don't think so....
This is so very sad that you feel this way, he is not perfect no, but posting these lies are sad, what should matter are the issues which him and Hillary are almost on the same page about if you know him personally then I might took your comments as truth but since you don't please don't judge a book by it's cover............

YOU SAY
"If you can back up everything you said with facts then I might listen, sounds like you need to educate yourself before making bold statements…Instead of posting ignorant statements, post something that is truthful…Details please......"
Well, that will teach me not to make lists of Obama factoids that I consider common knowledge. Here's a little of what I can pull together quickly. If this is not enough for you, you'll have to do your own research.
LYING
1) He said he was conceived by his parents when they were marching to Selma. (He was four years old when the march to Selma happened.)
2) He said he came to this country with money sent to him by John F. Kennedy. (What can I say? It was a bare faced lie - not even a shred of truth to it.)
3) He claims in his ads and on the stump to have "passed laws like Public Law 110-181 which extended care for wounded soldiers. Not only did he not pass the law, He did not even sponsor or cosponsor it. As a matter of fact, he missed the 22 January 2008 vote on the bill.
4) He claimed not to know of Rev. Wright's ranting statements or philosophies when the controversy first broke, and admitted that he DID know one week later.
5) For more, see documented list Obama's 60 lies - and growing http://obamawtf.blogspot.com/2008/06/arrogant-obama-seals-his-presidenrtial.html
SPITEFUL
Even the Obama-loving liberal press admitted to Obama's spite when he poked Hillary in the eye by hiring her former campaign manager to serve his future Vice Presidential pick as chief of staff. And Lisa, if you can't believe your own pundits, there'll be no convincing you.
DISINGENUOUS
Obama says that he does not take PAC or lobbyist money - especially that he does not take money from PhRMA, the powerful pharmaceutical industry lobby. But he does take money from senior employees of PhRMA members such as Pfizer and Eli Lilly - over $250,000 in contributions this year. Also, Obama claims to refuse money from federal lobbyists but his campaign accepts in-kind contributions from registered lobbyists in the form of volunteer work. How's that not "business as usual in Washington?"
(Also see Lying)
SEXIST
"I'll get back to you on that Sweetie." Oh, and there's all that talk about Hillary's only credential's being those of a President's wife. Oh, and there's the "get over it" insult to women ticked off with him and the DNC for sexist behavior.
REVERSE RACIST
Obama sat in Trinity United Church for over 20 years, "every Sunday morning at 11" in his own words (spoken after 9-11). Jeremiah Wright is a Black Liberationist Theologist by his own admission. That is a racist philosophy.
RACKETEER OBLIGATED
Tony Rezko, a Chicago convicted racketeer and slum lord financed Barack Obama to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. He is also implicated in Obama's purchase of his house at way below market value. Read the papers - it's all there.

Clinton is among the oppressing class ("rich white people") and is incapable of understanding oppression ("ain't never been called a n-gg-r") but Jesus knows what it was like because he was "a poor black man" oppressed by "rich white people." While Black Liberation Theology is not main stream in most black churches, many pastors in Wright's generation are burdened by Cone's categories which laid the foundation for many to embrace Marxism and a distorted self-image of the perpetual 'victim'." In other words, reverse racist.

GANG-BANGER FIST PUMPING
Perhaps it does not bother you for the first congratulatory gesture after winning presumptive nominee status of the Democratic Party to be a common street gesture used regularly by gang bangers and athletes (among others). Of course, the gesture was greatly enhanced when Obama followed it by slapping the presumptive first lady on the butt on prime time TV. What's next? Crotch scratching at the inaugural?
PUBLIC WIFE BUTT SLAPPING
(See Gang-Banger Fist Pumping)
OFF SHOULDER FLIPPING
Perhaps it does not seem insulting or dismissive or demeaning for one candidate to symbolically flip the other candidate off his shoulder - and then brush her off his shoe (something totally not reported). This is a campaign for the Presidency of the US. This is not a run for high school mascot. Haven't we dumbed down society enough? What's next on the campaign trail? Candidates mud wrestling? Flipping birds at each other? Oh I know, he was just mimicking Jay Z. So what? Jay Z flipping dirt off his shoulder? How does that make it better or more acceptable?

BUMP/BOUNCE-LESS
It's a matter of record. He didn't get one in the polls following his presumptive nominee win.
OLYMPIC-STYLE UNDER THE BUS TOSSING
It's getting to be a big dusty pile. Reverends Wright, Pfleger and Moss along with the Trinity United Church congregation, Tony Rezko, Jim Johnson, Martin Klonsky, Samantha Power, the great Fake Presidential Seal, bowling and FISA. There's more.
INEXPERIENCED
While Obama supporters love to extol Obama's legislative experience, he has very little. State legislative duties are highly overrated. In the Illinois legislature, legislators were in session or working all of 74 days in 2002, 79 days in 2003, 164 days (wow!) in 2004, 75 days in 2005 and 67 days in 2006. Since coming to the US Senate, Obama has been running for President - not able to find time to even convene his own singular committee. He has never run a business or been an administrator. Touting his campaign as Executive prowess is silly. Campaigning is a marketing process and has little to do with Executive Management.
130 TIMES PRESENT VOTING
His Illinois votes are a matter of record. His convoluted explanation of what a "present" vote is doesn't fly. Present is a no vote or a way not to take an official stand on a controversial issue. Obama is great at not getting "on the record" about anything.
6 TIMES OOPS! WRONG BUTTON PUSHING
This he has admitted himself and it too is a matter of record. In Illinois, he voted, and then claimed to have pushed the wrong button six times. Either he is the clumsiest legislator around or this is just another method of weaseling out of a controversial vote.
BEYOND UBER-LIBERAL
Barack Obama is liberally left of every member of the U.S. Senate. The National Journal says "Barack Obama…was the most liberal senator in 2007." Obama's composite liberal score of 95.5 was the highest in the Senate in 2007.
PETULANT

FLIP-FLOPPING
1) On "Meet the Press," Tim Russert asks "So you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?" Obama says "I will not."
2) In a fall 2007 presidential debate, Obama joined with most of his Democratic rivals to declare that he opposed decriminalizing marijuana. When running for US Senate four years ago, Obama told Illinois college students "I think we need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws."
3) On December 22, 2007 in an Omaha cafe, Obama said "I've always been a Christian." He added that he had never practiced Islam. In his childhood, he was enrolled in two Jakarta schools as a Muslim where he studied recitation of the Quran according to his teacher and classmates. I find nothing wrong with his studying Islam. His flip flopping and lying about it is unforgivable.
4) Obama promised to use public funding in the general election if the Republican candidate would do so also. McCain is sticking with the deal. Obama: Flip flop. So much for campaign reform.
5) The Spying Bill (FISA) - Another incredible flip flop for Obama. He was strongly against it before he was for it.
6) There's a lot more. (Also see Lying, Disingenuous, Presidential Fake Seal-Loving, Olympic Under the Bus Tossing)
KENNEDY WANNABE
Caroline Kennedy. Senator Ted Kennedy. Any other Kennedy who will cooperate. Any Kennedy quote he can work into a speech. "I came here with money sent to me by John Kennedy." And it's common knowledge.

WOW!
I'm in awe of you, Linda! Thank you SO much for putting together in one place such an extensive list of Obama facts, proving that your post was indeed truth, and not lies.
It's obvious Lisa has made up her mind and nothing you say will sway it. Sad that she and others have a blind spot when it comes to Obama. That doesn't matter.
What you wrote is going to be a great resource for me and others, so I'm glad you took the time to back up your statements.
You rock!

I find it hard to believe how far people have gone to smear Obama's name, If you don't care for him that's fine but making him out to be some monster is just plain wrong.
I don't really care for McSame as I feel he would put this country in more danger and I for one do not think we can afford that at this point, although Obama is not perfect and yes I said it I think he would make the appropriate changes needed in order to get us halfway back to normal.
I feel that Hillary gave a good fight and I respect her for that, she lost and I know that can be hard for some to deal with and that is understandable, but remember she agreed to not count Michigan and Florida as she thought she had the race locked up, but once Obama took the lead then all of a sudden she wanted to make her voice heard.
I say this as it bothers me on how her and her supporter felt she should have took all the votes in those two places, and I'm sorry put that isn't fair at all and it is greedy to say the least, I know mostly women are affected by her lost but last time I checked this race was for every American not just women, and I feel this is the reason she lost, I'm not trying to be harsh but I'm trying to be realistic, we need to heal the party because if we don't then other qualified women would be discouraged as they would look at Hillary's run and would be scared.
I for one would be pissed if my supporters jumped ship and I would find it to be a huge disappointment, she probably feel that she damaged the party she has worked so hard for and how do you think that would make her feel if all her supporters went to McSame, her and Obama may have their differences as with all people running in a presidential race but we learn to accept our defeat and hold our heads up with dignity.
Hillary may have done this in a round about way, but I respect her as she is doing the right thing, I for one said that if Bush got elected our country would suffer and look I don't think I should have to explain that one as the proof is in the pudding.
Obama may have a few people that are quite out their, but so does the Clinton's and McCane but I was taught you love all people good or bad as we can't judge people for their ignorance but embrace them with love, I don't feel Obama hates America nor his wife but it's sad that when a black person does run for president they are made out to be racist or have some hatred towards white people, trust me this isn't true.
So I have asked so many on why hey are so scared of Obama but as always you get the same tired explanations like he is a liar, he sat in a church for 20 years, he is Muslim, he the anti-Christ, he is not a citizen, he plays to dirty, it is so much more of this so called fear mongering it's getting old.
We are all not perfect mistakes help us learn, don't let McCain be your next mistake by voting McCain or not voting at all you are just hurting our country, let show the republicans they we are better than that it your choice, smiles

ABOUT TODAY'S UNITY PERFORMANCE WITH ALL THE BUSED-IN SCRIPTED PLAYERS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE -
I believe Hillary is saying what she has to say
BUT -
I will not join her in supporting Barack Obama - no matter what she says and how many times she says it.
She says he "stands for women" in her speech.
Well, if what Obama and the DNC have done to women is GOOD for us then I'm going to run down to the worst part of town and scream "beat me, rob me, rape me - so I can feel REALLY GOOD about myself."
I will not forget the sexism, the dismissing, the insults, the fascist grabbing of the nomination by DNC - and worse - the sick, transparent patronizing butt-kissing to "woo" us back. It disgusts me.
I will not forget that Barack Obama is an Obam-ination - inexperienced, arrogant, cocky, self-centered, spiteful, thin-skinned, juvenile, vindictive, exaggerating, lying, terrorist friendly, black liberationist (racist) theologist, Chicago racketeer financed, flip flopping man of incredibly poor judgment.
Give me a lame-duck, hamstrung, deadlocked John McCain with a Democratic Majority in Congress for the next four years. At least I trust what he says - as much as I can trust any politician.
At least McCain will not be able to get a conservative Supreme Court nominee confirmed (he needs a two-thirds majority of the Senate) or continue Bush's war (he needs funding which can be withheld by a majority democrats).
McCain will be gone in four years. Hillary can run in 2012. There's nothing to keep Hillary from working on a national health plan in Congress and having it ready to implement during the first days of her 2012 Presidency. It would take that long to get the system up and running anyway - even if a Democrat were President. No time lost.
HOLD YOUR NOSE - USE YOUR HEAD - VOTE FOR DEADLOCK - VOTE FOR JOHN McCAIN.
Unless Hillary wins the nomination in Denver. Then forget him.

Linda, I'm with you! I had a hard time watching that "celebration" in Unity, NH. She did what she had to do. And I'm going to do what I have to do.
If the super delegates don't come to their senses in August, and the DNC doesn't shape up, then I'm shipping out.
This will be the first year I've ever voted for a Republican president.

Sorry Hillary, not even for you can I offer help or even consider voting for Obama. I will only vote for you, otherwise, it is McCain for me if the DNC doesnt't come to their senses. No Obama, no way and no how. Oh yeah, Obama, you get over it sweetie!!!

Lisa,
YOU SAY -
"…we learn to accept our defeat and hold our heads up with dignity."
Sorry. Don't try to guilt trip us with Hillary. This is not about Hillary. This is about Obama and the DNC making a criminal grab for power in the Democratic Party for the far left. They do not care that they stole votes, broke rules, and pretty much told women to take the injustice and suck it up - just the way women have had to suck it up for "the man" forever.
Unless you are a guy named Lisa, you should take a closer look at what happened to women in this primary campaign. You will live forever with the consequences of their malicious behavior if the DNC and Obama get away with their treatment of us.
WE WILL NOT BE COMING HOME TO OBAMA - NOT EVEN TO HILLARY AND OBAMA. If you don't understand why, then you just don't get it in feminist terms.
YOU SAY -
"…don't let McCain be your next mistake by voting McCain or not voting at all you are just hurting our country, let show the republicans they we are better than that it your choice, smiles"
I GOTTA "JUST SAY NO DEAL."

Yes, I'm a woman and I never said I didn't understand why women are so upset they have every right to be, but I don't understand how anyone can blame Obama for the actions of the DNC.
Obama didn't demand not to Campaign in both Florida and Michigan he followed the rules and took his name off the ballot as he knew votes wouldn't be counted both he and Hillary both understood this and at that time they accepted it, it wasn't until Obama took the lead and Hillary then said woman and voters need a voice.
One thing I should point out is no matter how you divided up the delegates nothing would have been fair, the best thing to do was to make this argument early on before the dates were changed then we would not have this big mess, but I believe in playing fair and no I don't believe she deserved all the delegates in those two states as that would not be fair, and some can say she won fair and square but did they get to campaign no, people were told not to vote and not every person did due to that fact.
So with that said some voters would not have been counted anyway if they bypassed their candidate of choice so that is not fair as no everyone would not have been counted. I'm so tired of people putting the blame on Obama.
Look at it this way would you still feel the same if the tables were turned and it was Obama fighting for the votes, I think I know the answer no.
For the most part he is being called a racist, Muslim, terrorist, etc... no one has no proof but they throw these accusations out their daily tell me how is this fair, if you think Hillary got bad treatment then why do it to someone else remember two wrongs don't make a right.
I understand this was a tight race and no matter who won or who lost if would have hurt many of voters, it's not the end of the world Hillary is showing now that she is a fighter and is not weak and I admire her for that, I not a Hillary supporter but I sent money to help with her debt as some other Obama supporters I know.
Finally, if people feel she was treated badly then they shouldn't do it to others and yes I'm referring to Obama we need to set examples if anything that these online blogs are posting is truth let it come out but don't make up stuff about him that is not true and if it is hey I loves to see some facts, and to conclude this Obama is not racist he has never said anything negative about anyone's nationality and if he did show me some proof and no the paster don't count so I say NO DEAL to all the smears as no one deserves this type of name calling, it makes me wonder if it's only because he is black, but I know no one is going to change their minds but please look at the facts before spreading false rumors, and please show me proof of him being sexist or had ties with the DNC to commit fraud maybe if I see it I might then believe it.
Good Day!!!!!

I gave you a list a mile long of Obama trangessions and many have direct links to back them up - and you come back with the same crooning for Obama you sang in your first post???
You don't want proof of anything. You want the "Yes, I love Obama answer."
You're not going to get it from me.
You're not going to lift Obama out of the political mud he wallows in no matter how many times you repeat your litany of Obama blogger talking points.
SORRY HILLARY - NOBAMA - VOTE McCAIN!

Forget it.
The Obama people don't think. They just regurgitate the same old talking points over and over and over again.
Here are their marching orders from the Obama campaign:
If someone is not supporting Obama, they are the enemy and deserve no respct. You are justified in using any tactic to convince them to join us or to shut them up.
1. Repeat your talking points over and over again.
2. If (1) doesn't work, use name-calling and insults to distract them and waste their time. Some suggestions: Call them racists, bigots, fake Democrats, or stupid, ignorant, and delusional.
3. If (2) doesn't work, repeat step (1).
There's no point in attempting to engage Obama supporters in a rational discusssion. They are not rational and they will only pretend to be interested in your opinion so that you will pay attention to them and they can execute the strategy above.

Hey Albert!
I know. I get conflicted about engaging Obamalytes. It's always the same - like you say.
I have yet to have an Obama supporter offer one iota of research, resource, or anything else to back up their claims.
The rumor is that Obama has hired hundreds of bloggers to skew the online polls and overwhelm the Hillary websites with their regurgitations and trash talk. I can believe it. I've been dealing with them for days.
Some are representing themselves to be white women/Hillary supporters who are online to chastise us for not "doing as she asks and joining Obama in unity." Funny how after a while, the youthful slang (to put it nicely) slips right in there.
So everybody out there should be questioning who they are really blogging with now.
